Alright, I'm not sure where else to post this, so if this is wrong spot, please just move it or delete it or whatever.

So... I'm trying to personalize my livejournal... You know, own background, own colors, maybe my own header, whatever. The thing is, I can't figure out how to do it. At all. Help, please? I've looked for tutorials and such on the internet, but all I'm finding are premades, and I want my own, even if it is just colors.

I honestly don't know how to do anything with LJ's layouts. I prefer to customize premades (like codes from mintyapple) So long as you give them credit in your userinfo for the original codes, they don't mind if you add a header, etc. Per example, my layout is from refuted, and I made my own Lost header.

If you don't know how to change the codes around I can try to do it for you, but I don't know how to do their layouts from scratch.

I finally gave up and just started using one of the premades, it was driving me so crazy. Even just inserting a background pic is difficult to figure out.

Well did you use a premade layout's original codes or did you do it yourself? I can't even entertain it, I'll just take somebody else's codes and switch things around however I want them, and just credit in my profile for the original codes.

No, I just picked one of the layouts they offer. I gave up on figuring any of the rest of it out. But I'm really liking the one I picked. Have you seen it recently? Click! Come on, you know you want to.
