Elemento: Fuoco Ed Acqua
Disclaimer: Yes, we've been through this. Warnings: Spoilers, I think... Rating: PG, T Genre: Romance, OOC-ness, Sev getting scared (but that's not a genre) Pairings: Severus/Lucius ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~.:&:.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Severus Snape whimpered in pain as the crucio was lifted from him: again. Voldemort was most pleased that he had killed Dumbledore, but was most displeased that he, Severus, hadn’t killed Potter. And it didn’t help that Severus only killed Dumbledore to fulfil the Unbreakable Vow with Narcissa Malfoy.
So, Voldemort decided to take his anger out on Severus. The other Death Eaters were shuddering, or trying to seem as though they’re not. Lucius, for one, watched in horror as Severus was again, put under the cruciatus curse. Other Death Eaters around him were doing a worse job than him in trying to hide his fear and horror.
Finally, “I hope you’ve learnt your lesson, Severus.” Said the snake-face, red-eyed terror of the wizarding world.
“Y – Yes, Milord.” Severus stuttered with pain. Voldemort nodded and dismissed them all with a wave of his hand, before leaving the Meeting Room in Malfoy Manor. In unison, the assembled Death Eaters let out a shuddering sigh and turned to Severus as Lucius moved to his side.
“Severus, are you ok?”
“Do I look ok?” the Potions Master demanded harshly before sighing. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. Come on, let’s get you in a more comfortable room.” Said the Patriarch of the Malfoy family. Severus Snape nodded and let the blonde move him to stand and through the door of the Meeting Room.
~~~~~.:&:.~~~~~
Tom Marvolo Riddle, a.k.a Lord Voldemort, stalked into his rooms in Malfoy Manor. He hissed to the snakes guarding his doors, then to the one’s inside to move away. He was terribly, terribly angry that Severus had let Potter go. Stupid Bloody-Boy-Who-Wouldn’t-Bloody-Die and his Order Of The Burning Toucan. Why must they continuously get in his way?
Well, he reasoned, at least the old Coot was now dead. That had to count to something, didn’t it? At least now he was the strongest wizard alive, except for Potter. As much as he hated to admit it, with the right training, Potter could very well become as strong as he.
d**n, he wanted to hurt something.
Angrily, Voldemort sauntered into his attached bathroom and ran the cold water. Just before he reached out to splash it onto his face, he looked at his reflection, and stared at it, more confused than shocked.
He was sweating, more so than what he definitely should be. His red eyes blinked to rid them of the stinging liquid. He wasn’t quite sure how it was possible, but he could, quite easily, transform between his ‘snake-face’ menace form, and his elegant beauty ‘Tom Riddle’ form.
Right at that moment, he was the ‘snake-face’, but didn’t look exactly how he normally did. He was pale, more pale than he normally was, and sweating, a lot. It was like he was sick, almost like he had a fever, but he knew he wasn’t sick, and he knew he didn’t have a fever.
Voldemort was terribly confused, and he hated being confused. He growled to himself, and splashed water on his face. He then proceeded to whirl and storm back into his room.
He still wanted to hurt something.
~~~~~.:&:.~~~~~
“Severus! Sit the f*ck still!” exclaimed Lucius, exasperated. The Malfoy Patriarch was currently attempting to heal Severus’ wounds. Even though the Potions Master had only been placed under the cruciatus curse several times, he still suffered wounds. Such as a bleeding throat, unbelievable pain everywhere, and uncontrollable shaking. Really, Lucius was surprised he was actually conscience.
But Severus wasn’t helping.
“It hurts, Lucius, I’m afraid I can’t sit still.” Severus replied hoarsely.
Lucius sighed, grabbed the nearby potions and came to sit behind Severus. The Potions Master didn’t fight, and let Lucius as he poured the first potion down his cracked throat. He grimaced at the flavour, and recognized it as his own. Every Potions Master had a distinct flavouring. His was a cinnamon/sage and lemon flavour.
It was utterly disgusting.
But they did their jobs. Already he could his throat beginning to heal. Lucius waited a moment before pouring the second potion. It made Severus sigh. It was his original cruciatus potion. The effects immediately made themselves known. The shaking died away, and the pain began to dull.
“Are you ok, now, Sev?” Lucius asked hesitantly. Severus nodded and closed his eyes contently. His back pressed against Lucius’ chest. “You know I can’t stay here for long? The snakes will go straight back to the Dark Lord. We can’t be together.”
“I don’t care, Lucius. Narcissa doesn’t care, so why should the Dark Lord?”
Lucius sighed. This was Severus’ typical argument. Narcissa never cared that Lucius didn’t love her, and loved Severus instead. In fact, Narcissa never loved him either, and was happy for him to love someone. Lucius never liked the tradition of parents choosing a partner for the children, as what happened to Narcissa and himself.
Parents always choose a daughter for their son, as in the case of the Malfoys. It didn’t help that Lucius was gay. That’s why Narcissa didn’t tell anyone, and played ‘the happy family’ around others. Draco knew, of course. You couldn’t help but know when you walk in on your father and godfather in very compromising positions. Draco decided that he didn’t care after Lucius told him the truth. To a thirteen year old, it was easy enough to understand.
His deal was that Lucius couldn’t decide whom Draco was to marry, and his father whole-heartedly agreed.
“Lucius…” started Severus, but he didn’t finish. Deciding instead to turn around and capture Lucius’ lips with his own. The force pushed the Malfoy back onto the bed.
“I love you, Severus.” Severus smiled, and just before Lucius pulled him down towards him, and their lips connected again, he said.
“I love you, too, Lucius.
~~~~~.:&:.~~~~~
“Mr. Malfoy, Sir!” Lucius jumped awake. Severus stirred next to him as the blonde spotted the house elf that had woken him up.
“What do you want?” he snapped, and the elf flinched back. Severus had woken up, and sat leaning against Lucius, glaring at the elf for waking them.
“Mr. Malfoy, Sir, Squiggy wakes you up. Master would likes to see you.” The head house elf said before rushing off.
Lucius groaned.
“Do you think he knew I was here?” he asked bitterly.
“…Don’t know…” Severus yawned. Lucius yawned too, catching Severus’, and stood tiredly. He got into his clothes, then lent over and gave Severus a chaste kiss.
“I’ll be back soon, love.” Severus smiled, and gave him a fierce kiss before pulling away and lying back down.
No words needed.
Severus sighed when Lucius left the room. Yes, he did think the Dark Lord knew where Lucius was, and that they were seeing each other. Why Lucius was called, however, he wasn’t exactly sure. He wasn’t worried but, Lucius was often called to whatever Death Eater evil going ons he had to do.
He shut his eyes and started to slip back into sleep.
And then, of course, he couldn’t.
A feeling made itself known. It was like a tugging on his mind, and it almost felt desperate. Confused, Severus sat up and looked around the room. It was almost felt as though eyes were watching him. Standing, he grabbed some random clothes and put them on before walking out into the hall. Thankfully, there was no one around.
A prickly sensation made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. He quickly made his way to where the tugging wanted him to go.
It didn’t take long for him to find himself outside, very near the forest on the Malfoy Manor grounds. Frowning, he looked around, why was he there? Again, the desperate tugging made him face the darl depths of the forest.
Severus stared at it, and it took him a moment to actually work out what he was looking at.
Eyes.
Golden eyes that seemed to see straight through him to his soul. A fear that he hadn’t felt since he’d first met an angry Dark Lord burst in his chest and spread through him to the tips of his fingers and toes.
He wanted to run, and find Lucius. And hold him, and let the Malfoy comfort him, and love him. But he was frozen in the spot by the golden eyes. It was like his mind was yelling at his body to move, but it refused to. It was frustrating, and terrifying at the same time.
Suddenly, the eyes shifted, and seemed to come toward Severus. It was then the creature stepped out of the dark forest.
Severus’ eyes widened in terror, and his legs finally seemed to register his minds’ frantic orders. He backed away, and stumbled. But even as he hit the hard ground, he knew he could never get away.
The jet black wolf seemed to hesitate in its movements, as it stopped and cocked its head at the man before it as its mercy. It was almost as though it was calculating Severus.
Severus blinked as the wolf took a step back. Wolves weren’t intelligent. They had instinct, yes, but not intelligence. And yet, this wolf retreated slightly back into the forest. As though it was assessing his terror, and realising it was the reason.
Then again, wolves didn’t do that. They took every opportunity they could to eat, because they never knew when their meal would be their last. Severus was trembling in fear. A moment past as both man and wolf stared into the other’s eyes.
Then the wolf gave a half whine, and backed away until even its golden eyes had disappeared.
Severus blinked, his heart racing. Here he was, at the wolf’s mercy, and it left! He was terribly confused. Deciding that he didn’t want to become dog-food, in case it came back, he stood shakily.
The Potions Master lurched back to the Manor, and to his room. He was shaking so terribly, he could barely stand. Severus didn’t know why he was so terrorfied, but he was. Not even the Dark Lord inflicted the same fear. Realising Lucius wasn’t back yet, he stripped down and climbed into his bed and amongst his black silk sheets. Closing his eyes, he pulled the sheets over his head in hopes of comfort, and that it would block out the many questions streaming through his head.
It didn’t work.
His mind was reeling. What happened? Why was it here? Where did it leave? Why didn’t it attack him? Why was he so terrorfied? Why did it seem so intelligent? Where was Lucius? What happened to him? When will he be back?
Finally, unable to bear it, he slid from his bed, and stumbled to his cabinet. At said cabinet, he growled to himself. Another question bubbled in his mind, only to add itself to his other ones.
Why was he acting like a drunk?
Searching through his potions cabinet, he found what he wanted with relative ease. In a distressed sort of happy daze, he staggered back to his bed, sank into it, and gulped down his Dreamless Sleep potion in one.
He only had to wait a few moments before the effects started taking over him. Readily giving into the darkness of the potion, his last coherent thought was.
Where are you, Lucius?
