Mage, I think Anime has been a little on the busy side and doesn't get to spend as much time on here, so I don't think she can send it out.
If you want to revise it and send it out, go right ahead, but I'll probably still send out my short version. It seems more personal and less like a form letter and 9 times out of 10 if someone has questions they reply to what I send them. I like establishing a relationship early on with the members that doesn't seem so formal. But that's just the way I like to do it.

Okay. In the meantime I've been sending out an informal welcome as well. Should we just stick to that until the site gets bigger? I still have the formal letter in case we ever want that.

Yeah I'd say that's good. Hey but you know what you might do?
I changed the title of the Announcement section to Announcements and Forum Information. Go ahead and revamp that letter and post it as a sticky thread in that section under the title Useful Forum Links. That way anyone who just wants a quick look over everything we offer can go there first.
What do you think?

Okay, that sounds good. But it's really more of a welcome letter- why would they read that piece of forum information when they could just scroll down the page and see it for themselves?

I don't know. It was just an idea. The thing is that I've never seen a welcome letter with that many links in it. And if we look at it that way why would they need a welcome letter with all of those links if they can just scroll down the main page and see it all anyway. I mean they get to the main page before they see thier pm's anyway.
So logically it's not really needed at all.

It's not hard to get carried away. I do it often. Sorry, Mage.
