Well, the reason I liked it so much was because i hadn't read the book in a while. What i hate so much is that they turned the varden into a black and white situation- galbatorix was bad- the varden was good. It wasn't like that. The varden had some of the same issues that Galbatorix had.

Ya I know. The fact that the varden was corrupt was one of the charms of the story. I love my knights to have rust on their armor, you know?

My honest opinion is that the movie friggin' sucked. They axe murdered the story. They took almost all of the best parts of the book. All the complaints you mentioned I felt the same about. They did a horrible job. I was to say the least very much disappointed with it. The elves were not at all what I pictured. Granted I didn't expect LOTR elves but for the love of God make them elves. On a good point, the actors they chose were good. It was the script and the dialogue that was sh-t. The kid who played Eragon has talent and is definitely a looker. Same with Murtaugh's character. One hell of a hot kid. But that wasn't enough to save the movie. Maybe if I hadn't read the book I would have enjoyed it but over all they murdered it.
