There's been a lot of new television in what we had of this 2007 - 2008 season, and I thought it would be fun to start a thread for them.
I think the most popular show, by far, to take off this year was Gossip Girl. I saw the first few episodes, and while I adored Blake Lively in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, I couldn't make it very far into this series. It was too much guilty pleasure for such a young group of people, imvho. Penn Badgley and Matthew Settle were fantastic and snarky, my favorite parts of the bit I saw.
One new show I started watching and stuck with was Moonlight, which is very cool, however cheesy. I read that it's quite similar to the 1980s hit Forever Knight, but that I've never seen so I don't know for sure.
New shows I want to catch up on: Private Practice, Pushing Daisies and Chuck. All of those seem to have very good followings, too.
Anyway! There's still some new yet to come, as Ri and I have been discussing: tonight at 9pm/8pm cst on Fox marks the premiere of the new crime/romance/historical/modern drama New Amsterdam. The show follows John Amsterdam (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), a New York City homicide detective with a secret: he's immortal. In the 16th century Amsterdam saved the life of an Indian girl, and in an attempt to save his life the girl cursed him with immortality. The curse can only be broken if he finds his one true love. And so we follow Amsterdam in the present-day Big Apple using his curse to, perhaps, his advantage. I'm really intrigued by this show and I've heard some very promising reviews.
So there you have it. If there's any new shows you've been watching that I haven't mentioned, feel free to speak up!
