Gosh... another year and I still haven't read these books. This is getting really bad!

I've only read the first two, Mage, so I'm just as bad. And I haven't even touched on The Silmarillion. For some reason I find The Hobbit to have a charm that the Lord of the Rings books don't have. They're still fantastic, but there's that feeling of The Hobbit being a story told by an elderly Bilbo to all the hobbit children, and that's just fun

I know... I probably read about fifty pages before I gave up. It's just so slow going! And I haven't seen the movies either. mage

Ohh you must see the movies They're very different from the books, so you can get one sort of "What if" scenario from the movies and then a whole different view when you read the books. My opinion, anyway. The cinematography is breathtaking, and New Zealand is so beautiful. And the acting, in my opinioin, was wonderful. Viggo Mortensen deserved an Oscar.

Has it really been a year? I think Katie and I were gonna try to watch the EE of them sometime this month...that'll be our tribute...
I never read the books, either. I agree, very slow. I've read The Hobbit like three or four times and got halfway through The Fellowship, but it was for a class and yeah...

Ohh same here, Ri, I read The Hobbit a bunch of times and never made it through Lord of the Rings. But the first book in The Two Towers held my interest majorly, I was completely engrossed. The same goes for Fellowship. But I got bored with the second book in The Two Towers, but I wasn't very interested in Frodo and Sam's part of the journey at that point. I should go back and read them now that I've come to appreciate Frodo a bit more
