I don't go to church. Call me a pagan or the like, but organized religion just doesn't get it. 1) God's a woman. 2) Men are responsible for original sin, else why would they be such idiots? 3) Jesus was black. 4) It doesn't matter what you believe in, just that you believe. 5) We are all free to worship what ever god, gods, goddess, goddesses, it, its, etc. that we want and we should stop forcing our believes on others through propagada smear campaigns. (BTW, I am currently rereading The DaVinci Code, so...) I would have to agree with you anime. I haven't found a church yet that didn't try to make you have thier beliefs and thiers only. So I worship god in my own way and when I feel it is right. Everyone has thier own beliefs and they should be able to express those beliefs without forcing them on everyone else. I haven't read Davinci Code yet. Need to do that. M. I know, every church I've ever been to (from Pentacostal, Catholic, Baptist, Fellowship, etc) has had their own way they say god said you have to worship in to get into heaven. I dont' beleive that part. I say if you pray than god is listening, I don't need to go to church to do it. In fact in the bible it says that those who pray in private rather than a church will be rewarded better (it's in Matthew).

i agree with the praying thing but God also says that you need to meet with your brothers in christ and worship with them which is what my church does we have a lot of worship time and the children are taught from young to worship God. i am a kids church leader and we have lots of fun and we try to make church fun cause i have been to churches where everyone is silent and i hated that LUV AL

The church is a fellowship, so you can support each other through hard times.

I'm glad that there are churches out there that do believe in helping each other, I just haven't found one yet myself. But I have a question. It is said that you should come together with your brothers and worship god. What's to say that has to be in a church? If I have a conversaition say over im with a friend, concerning god and his ways. And that friend is having trouble in thier life, or I am, and we agree to pray to god for guidance for each other, is that not coming together in worship with my brother? I say yes. But that is my opinion. I have lots of friends both at home and online that I discuss god with. Are they not my brothers also?
Just my two cents worth.

Yeah, church is just a building. The true church is the people.

If it means going to church, then what about all the denominations which aren't together. Christ was a good man, but we humans get so wrapped up in other things we forget that. His message was peace, and yet, even today, we make war on people who don't believe. Catholicism was founded on a war, the pagan believes getting wiped out by the "new" Christianity. Ireland is often in civil war because it was Catholic and then conquered by Protestants. The Middle East is always at war between the different sects of Islam, and we forget, but Islam is derived from Christianity which is derived from Judasim.

The Middle East is always at war between the different sects of Islam, and we forget, but Islam is derived from Christianity which is derived from Judasim. Me thinks you've hit the nail on the head. I know it would be way too naive of me to say 'Why can't we just all get along' But that is what I can't understand. Why can't we? We are all born as human beings. Yes we are all raised different and that very much affects our outlook on life, but no matter what, we all have two things in common that it all boils down to. We are born, and we die. Why should it matter to me if the man down the street is catholic? Or the woman on the corner is Jewish? They are born the same way I was, and they will die, just the same as I will. If I treat them with respect, and kindness, they should do the same to me. I know the world don't always work that way. But d**n it would be nice. And lots of people use the excuse that they were never taught to be kind to others. That the problem is in their upbringing. I have to admit most of what I saw as a youth was take care of yourself and to heck with the other guy. Or the attitude that if I do something nice for someone else, what's in it for me? But that's not the way I am. I still try to do for others first. Yeah I've gotten burned by that before. You do for others and then they do you wrong. But I know somewhere down the road something good will come of it. So I am proof that you are not limited to what you are taught if you don't want to be. Yeah well I think I've gone off on a severly wide tangent here, but oh well. I'll give the soap box back to anime again. M.
