This is a teeny tiny excerpt from a marvelous book, An Assembly Such As This by Pamela Aidain. It's a Pride & Prejudice fanfiction, basically, following the events of the original book through the eyes of Darcy (a three-book series). This is one of my favorite bits from the first book, it's a brilliant little exchange between Darcy and Bingley.

That was a really good book. Have you read the one titled "Mr. Darcy's Daughters", by Elizabeth Aston? It was amazing. Look it up on Amazon, i think you'll like it.
