Hmmm... it's not difficult...anyone with logic could do it better I assure you. *I confirmed for my own amusement that the process can be done on paint*

Actually now that I think of it, I could probably do it on Photofiltre too, but as you said it would be amazingly time consuming, but if you want it to look cool, which we all do, it would be worth it.
Now you've made me curious and I've gotta try.

Base coat... shadow recess depth colour 1.... shadow recess depth colour 2.... base colour.... highlight 1.... highlight 2.... extreme highlights... colour contraster... auto blend....
It...took...ages.

Well, Photofiltre isn't as fancy as the program he uses so you really just have to magnify to like 400% and then add one pixel at a time and then throw in some effects to blend it all together. But honestly I got tired of it too quick and quit. So I don't have a finished project in hand.
