I was reading Luther- listen to what Catholic canon law said back in his day: (no offense to you catholics out there “If the pope were so scandalously bad that he led multitudes of souls to the devil, still he could not be removed from office.”A famous quote by Luther when facing the Diet at Worms in the 1520s (not sure of the exact date): "Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise, so help me God" Luther hated to rebel. He wasn't terrified of death, but of rebelling. (He was an authoritarian) The only way he was able to justify saying "nope, sorry, no can do [recant of his teachings]" to the emperor was the fact that God was the higher authority. Anyways, I'm doing a series of lectures on Luther, and it just struck me as interesting. I hope you guys aren't all bored to death with it. mage

Okay so I was playing the second Fullmetal Alchemist video game today (almost the entire time I was home, which actually wasn't a whole lot of time...) and came up with two funny quotes. (two only because I didn't listen to half of the game since I've played half of it before)
"Wow...your god is mean." --Alphonse on the false god brought up in chapter one
"Well, the good news is, we're out of the sewer. The bad news it, there's nobody around. How about we get some lunch?" --Ed, upon leaving a SECOND sewer so far in the gameplay

I was reading this book today, and this quote really struck me from the preface: "The time for thinkers has come. Truth, independent of doctrines and time-honored systems, knocks at the portal of humanity..."-Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health: With Key to the Scriptures, page vii
