Okay, so it isn't until February, but I'm so stoked about it. It's gonna rock so much. Iarejedi is coming with me (she's my con buddy ) and we're gonna have a blast. As guests that she and I know, there'll be Greg Ayres. We met him for the first time at Tekkosho in Pittsburgh. He was at Nekocon and he remembered us, so we were like, "Sweet!" We're both excited to be able to see him again. Then there's Kilika, a webcomic artist. He's a really nice guy, and his webcomic ( Blue and Blond) is hilarious. He'll be starting a new comic after the New Year, so if you like webcomics, check his out. There's a lot of other guests, a few voices from Pokemon, Fullmetal Alchemist; a handful of webcomic artists; some bands. A lot of people. It'll be great. There will also be a HUGE dealer's room, a masquerade, concerts, cosplay competitions...yes, a lot of stuff. I think I may enter the cosplay contest this year! Woot! Must make something freaking awesome. Maybe I can convince Emily to do a skit with me... Anyway! So I thought I'd share my excitement. It's seven weeks from today. Yeah!

So day one at Katsucon....(forgive any weird typos...on my phone with this). we didnt get there until oneish and stood in line forever for pre-reg check in. after that we went down to the merchants room where we got Greg Ayres autograph. hes such a sweet funny guy but anyway. we'll hang out with him later. after that we got some food from the hotel shops and kinda split up. most of the group went into artist alley and i went into webcomic alley to hang out with Chris. it was nice to see him again. i hung out at his table until opening ceremonies then went with him to that. he left after hed been announced so i found the rest of my group and we hung around until Greg had been announced, then went to say bye to Chris. i bought one of the guinea pig plushies he has there (youd have to read his comic to understand that...) and decided that we would eat out over the weekend. here comes the ineresting part... we rode the metro and then waited for the bus...then waited some more....and waited even more! we kinda froze in that time...it sucked but we finally got a taxi back to the hotel which as sooo much easier. so now were back and we've eaten. we're watching spongebob now...woot. will return tomorrow with another update.

Hokay, so. I just made it back from Katsucon, woot. Yes, alive and all my limbs/digits/etc are intact. So day two was interesting. Woke up around...errr....8ish, woke everyone else up (hee...) and we left the hotel around 9:30 after breakfast. We drove that time. There was a panel I wanted to attend at um...10, but it was cancelled so I just hung out, then found Chris and caught the last 15 minutes of one of his panels. We walked to the next panel he had, which was a huuuuge webcomic panel (it had allllll the artists there, which was like 10). Unfortunately, it was starting, I had to go because my parents were there with my sister for her day at the con. It took us about thirty minutesish to make it through the registration, so we ended up making the last 15 minutes, again, of Chris' panel, though he did wave to us when we sat down. xP After that, we hung out a little bit...my sister wanted to go to the merch room, so we went there while everyone else was in a panel with Greg Ayres and Tiffany Grant. She bought a Kon (from the anime Bleach) beanie hat, and a surfing guinea pig and a surfboard necklace from Chris. We hung out with him at his table in Webcomic Alley for awhile (like 2...) then met up with the rest of the group to head over to Fairfax for food. That was positively nuts, so we won't talk about that. We were supposed to go to this awesome Japanese buffet called Todai, but they were closed...that added to the insanity, but we managed to drop off my little sister with my parents and the rest of the group and I ran around the mall for food since we were all starving! That was hilarious! One of the guys, David, is absolutely nuts, in a good way. He was constantly making us laugh by causing a scene doing various things, like talking loudly about errr....random...things....heh He earned VERY many odd looks. It was great, it dissipated the craziness of driving up there and my parents and stuff, but anyway. We got food then went back to the hotel. There, we vegged out and watched like...three movies on TNT (Epic Movie, Billy Madison, and Night at the Museum) until close to 10:30. Then we went driving around town, which was incredibly amusing. I wanted to go to Target to get a shirt, but being that it was 10:30, Target had just closed. Then there were no other places around...not even a walmart. After that, we went in search of a gas station, which was horribly amusing too. We drove around a few blocks before finding a BP (surprisingly enough, things close early there!), filled up, then went back to the hotel for just a few minutes. After that, we drove back to the convention center (this is like at 11:30 now) for the dance, which was freakin' awesome. It was a little scary at one point when there was a small fight like...right next to us and we were all like, "O.O" but the two guys' girlfriends broke it up and then things just went back to normal. But it was an incredibly short feeling 2 hours! But at about 1:50, we headed back to the car and drove back to the hotel. Most of us stayed awake to watch movies until about 3:30....heh But this morning, I woke most everyone up at like...9 AM (yay for being the alarm clock). We hung around the hotel until about 11:30 (check-out was at...noon), packing and stuff, and then we went to the convention for the eyeshine concert (that's Johnny Yong Bosch's band). It was pretty sweet. After that, we walked around a little. I said bye to Chris, and then we went out in search of food. We hit up an Applebees. That's like convention tradition. But after that, they dropped me off at the hotel and we went our separate ways. That's my take on Katsucon 14! It was really great, and I"d like to go again next year. Maybe I can convince Emily to post her weekend...lol

I thought you'd found a convention in your area? o.o And I think if there's one not TOO far away from you, you can get a handful of friends together and at least one adult and attend. Sure, having an adult is kinda like "..." at least for me, but anyway. (thankfully, I haven't had to have my parents attend cons with me, though Katsu required parental consent if you were younger than 18). Anyway, good luck on getting to a convention! Maybe when you're legal and it won't be counted as kidnapping, I"ll cart you along to one of my conventions.
