Mmkay well, here's my go at poetry this round. Enjoy. ____________________________________________________________ The rain falls upon the windows Like your fingers on my skin Lightly touching before sliding away
The wind blows through the trees Like your breath in my hair Gently flowing then subsiding quietly
The lightning illuminates the dark sky Like your eyes in mine Brightly flashing before I look away
The thunder shakes through the house Like your hands clasped lightly around mine Slowly calming before our fingers lace together
Our love is like a storm Passionate and almost frightening We cling to each other to hide our fear
As the storm had begun slowly Our affection had swollen just the same Until it was too much to bear
The wind and the rain had torn through the sky Like the invisible bonds of love Pulling us together though we never should have been
The thunder and the lightning pierced the earth The love you showed me penetrating my darkness Until all that was left was your light
When the storm was over and calm We held each other through it all Like nothing else had mattered

This is a fine piece of work, Ri! I don't know why, but the beginning really grabbed me. It's like a beautiful, romantic comparison to two things different and yet similar. ...okay, did that make any sense? Anyway, I love it very much!

Wowza! I have to entirely agree with Idril on this one!! The beginning grabbed me too and I know exactly what she was saying about it being a comparison to two different yet similar things! Very, very well done, Ri!!! ~Anna Christie
