I don't know if you could truly call this horror, but I don't really know where to put it otherwise.
Summary: In the dark trying to find my way out...
Rating: PG-PG-13
Darkness pressed around me like black velvet. My heart thudded in my chest.
THUM-THUD
THUM-THUD
My breath came in ragged gasps. I was hyperventalating.
Mentally I focused my thoughts elsewhere and willed myself calm. It helped that I closed my eyes, but even if they were open I didn't see anything. The only reason I could tell my eyes were closed was because I could feel my eyelashes resting softly on my cheeks.
I opened my eyes and saw black. It was like a whirlpool of dark or a black hole. No light could permenate the darkness.
Walking forward with my hands in front of me I pushed throught the inky blackness until my hands came to rest on a cold, clammy, hard something. It was a cement wall, the kind that made the basements or cellars of the homes that had them.
I began following the wall, one hand touching it while the other was in front of me. I felt around in the darkness hoping I wouldn't run into anything.
My wall hand hit something wooden and I breathed a sigh of relief.
I turned towards the door and began to frantically feel my hands over it hoping to find the door knob and hoping that it was unlocked.
My hand brushed the round, cool metal of the know and sighed again. Taking hold of it firmly I twisted it open, throwing open the door at the same time.
Warm sunlight hit my face, warming my clammy skin as a cool breeze whipped around my face and threw my hair. My skin drank in the warmth while my hair relished in the freedom.
Walking forward and up the steps I walk over to the grass. Something was wrong.
I fell into the ruff grass, each blade pressing in, on my knees and looked up at the sky. My soft cotton shirt settled against me as my denims began to rub my thighs.
That's when I figured out what was wrong.
My eyes wer open, yet all I saw was the darkness pressing in.
