When you post a story, please be sure to include a rating, a pairing- if there is one, a summary, any warnings, and any disclaimers.
Even though the rating system has not been decided yet, anything that is above pg-13 or the fanfiction.net equivalent M, and not on the above teen boards, will be deleted!
When you list the pairing, if there is one, put the main character first. So if you're writing a fic where Daine and Numair are romantically involved, and Numair is the main character, please say Numair/Daine, instead of Daine/Numair, since Numair is the main character. Also, if there is more than one pairing in your story, please list them in order of importance. So if your story involves Numair/Daine pairing, you don't want to list Alanna/George pairing, because the reader will think that they're going to hear about Alanna and George.
Don't forget the summary either. Many readers (or would-be-readers) refuse to read a story that doesn't have a summary attached to it. Maybe that's a little extreme, but the summary is very important, nevertheless. The summary is the tool that grabs the reader's attention.
Then there are warnings. Don't forget these! Here are some: (quoted from Anime Monster with a few changes)
Slash: male/male pairings
FemSlash: female/female pairing
Orange: make-out scene, may get as far as the taking off of shirts and groping
Lime: Prelude to s*x. Basically anything you see in an R-rated movie's s*x scene. Breasts may be described in brief (a brief sentence), but keep it short. Pants may be taken off, but underwear MUST be present.
Last, but definitely not least, you MUST have a disclaimer. (Or disclaimers) saying who the characters belong too. Even if you use a phrase or an idea you got from somewhere else, you MUST have a disclaimer, no matter how trivial the thing might be.
If warnings, disclaimers and ratings are not included with your story, you will receive a warning. If you refuse to (or don't) change the problem, then that will lead to the deletion of your story.
