"Welcome to the new world. God save you, if it is right that He should do so."
Hello, and welcome to the fan fiction board for the film A Knight's Tale! I am your moderator, LadyIdril. Feel free to PM me with any questions or comments.
[EDIT] I've been unsuccessful in finding a transcript, but www.paulbettany.net has a good deal of info about the film along with a transcript of the commentary with Paul and director Brian Helgelend. I haven't watched that commentary yet, but reading the transcript was highly entertaining, I have to say... [/EDIT]
Now, for those of you that do not know the film, A Knight's Tale follows William Thatcher, a poor esquire, as he takes on the world of jousting tournaments, disguising himself as a nobleman to hide his peasant stature. Further summaries of the plot can be found here: imdb.com/title/tt0183790/plotsummary
Below is a simple cast list, with the actor on the left and the character played on the right:
Heath Ledger - William Thatcher
Rufus Sewell - Count Adhemar of Anjou
Shannyn Sossamon - Lady Jocelyn
Paul Bettany - Geoffrey Chaucer
Laura Fraser - Kate the Farrier
Mark Addy - Roland
Alan Tudyk - Wat Falhurst
Bernice Bejo - Christina, Jocelyn's handmaiden
James Purefoy - Edward, the Black Prince of Wales (who disguises himself as Sir Thomas Colville)
Christopher Cazenove - John Thatcher
Steve O'Donnell - Simon the Summoner of Rouen
John Slinger - Peter the Pardoner of Rouen
I've been unable to find a transcript of the film, but various quotes can be viewed here: imdb.com/title/tt0183790/quotes. This helps me in writing the characters more like they're seen in the films.
I'll be updating this thread as I go about finding new things. For now, though, good luck and happy writing!
