Whew, just in time! A few days to spare. Anyway, here's my project. It's Riku, Kingdom Hearts 2 style. Please forgive the photo quality; they were taken with my phone! Did what I could with them in Adobe but alas. It was debuted at Nekocon X, November '07, and received many compliments and made me the objects of a handful of glomps. >> Girls don't care they're glomping another girl if she's cosplaying a guy....heh Anyway! After some alterations, I might wear it again at Katsucon... Yay!

Love it, Ri. Even though I don't know any of the characters from KH2.. I love the colour, and it looks like it's got great details from what I can see.

Thank you, too, dearest. I did put a lot of effort into it.
I suppose I should make a materials list and crap...I'll do that later, but for now I'll mention that the pants (which are much too big in the waist) were from a Simplicity pattern (meant to have elastic, so maybe I'll do that?), and the vests were from a newspaper pattern I cut out. For a little while, I was slightly worried about the white/yellow vest because the white was extremely white, while Riku's vest looks slightly gray. But when I put it together with the yellow lining, the color came right out to what it needed to be: gray...ish. *nod* I'm particularly proud of that vest, even though it cuts off circulation in my arms (muscles, I tell you), because of the seams. They were particularly fun. I did a regular stitch to hold it all together, then did a second one above or below it to, A) keep the seam allowance down and B) give it a sergered look. One of my better accidents, I'd say.
Other than that, it really does need a revamp: some darts, letting out some areas, taking in...etc.
But now that I've rambled...it's bedtime.

Awesome Cosplay, Ri. I don't really know the character either but you put a ton of work into it. That's easy to see.

Thank you, M. Riku is my favorite character from KH2. (It's so easy to make him the object of angst! xP But it's also equally fun to make him...NOT the object of angsty stuff.) But anyway. Some more quick random things no one will probably care about. The dark blue of the pants in a linen-y type thing I found at Walmart for about $1, $2 a yard. The pockets aren't costume satin, but they're similar. Again, a Walmart bargain find...Actually I think all of it was a bargain at Walmart! Sweet. Anyway. I spent...hmm....I dunno how long exactly, I forget. Probably close to 6ish. Give or take. The most interesting part was definitely the vest, but the most fun part was seeing how the stitching on the pockets worked out. That stitching was the serger-imitation stitch on my regular machine about 1/8" away from the edge of the fabric, and it gives it, I guess, a more finished/professional look? I dunno. It's pretty cool. The beltloops I made myself (and poked myself A LOT with pins), and just for decoration there's a push-buckle thingy. *nod* Raven would know about how long it took me on some of it. She was staying with me. During the horrid--errr...wonderful cosplay making. (I won't lie, cosplays can be difficult!) So yeah. Some random stuff about the Riku cosplay.
