You know, I never thought I'd be discussing something like this but has anyone out there experienced plagerism in fan-fiction? Just yesterday it was pointed out to me over on ffnet by one of my faithful reviewers that another writer on there basically stole the first three chapters of one of my stories and used it in thier own fic. I went on to learn that not only did they steal three chapters from my story but a few other chapters from two other writer's stories and just made them fit together as one story. I read their reviews for the story and a couple of my other normal reviewers pointed this fact out in reviews and I guess the person is just ignoring them because they keep updating anyway. I along with at least two other members have reported them and I'm hoping ffnet will do something about it. This is their ffnet profile TeenageNothing. I suggest that everyone checks it out and if they are writing a story in a genre you usually write in, take a look. You never know when you'll be next. So have any horror stories of your own? I'd like to hear them. M.

Aw, gosh, I'm sorry about that, M. I know what it's like to see your work with someone else's name on it, and especially to see praise going to someone other than the creator. It's not fair at all and FFnet should be taking care of it immediately. I suggest an e-mail to the people in charge over there, stating solidly the objects of theft and don't forget to point out the dates of the story for proof that they're originally yours. They have no right to lollygag while your (and others') stories are being vandalized.
Hopefully it's remedied very, very soon!

Oh, yes, already filed that complaint. And they didn't even create their account until way after my story and the others were posted.
Now let's see how long it takes to fix the problem.

God, that's horrible 0.0 I don't know what's worse; that they actually stole someone else's work, or that they thought that they'd get away with it... Not cool.
Hopefully FF.net will take care of it as soon as possible.

They just finished the tenth and final chapter and are planning a sequel. I just read it. And I sent them a review explaining how wrong it was to plagerise others work and asked them to remove the story not 20 minutes ago. Talk about nerve.

I would be livid! That person obviously lacks any shread of imagination. Copy and pasting your name on someone elses writing and taking credit for it is so wrong I have not had it happen to me (that I know of) but I only have one story on FF.net its on chapter 23 and is over 50K words and counting. I love my story and would chop finger tips off if anyone tried to steal my chapters! I hope FF.net deals with that hack soon.

Well I don't know if ffnet dealt with it or if it was pressure from the reviewers but the story is now gone. Thank goodness. They never did respond to the review I left. I would have liked to hear the excuses they came up with. But at least they know they won't get away with that type of stuff anymore.
They have one other story but it's for Mutant X and I don't personally know the genre, so I can't tell if it's plagerised or not.
I'm still gonna keep an eye on them just in case though.
