Had yet another odd dream:
I was starring in a movie, not a leading role, but something at least semi-close to it, and just having an all around good time. I was talking to several of my companions on the set, I think that honestly we were filming in my home state, and I told them how I wanted to movie to California. One said, "Yeah, a lot of people do..."
I replied with, "I don't want to live in Hollywood though, somewhere a little less... populated by rabid fans or haughty stars would be nice."
They laughed at my comment, and another said, "That's what I wanted too, once upon a time." Now, I can't remember who I was with, but we went on filming whatever movie we happened to be in. I only know that the semi-coating of snow was important to the scene. So I couldn't even tell you if it was a real movie, or if it was something that my sleep-fogged mind created.
Anyway, later that evening I was headed home, hitch-hiking actually because I didn't have a car. An older woman with greying hair took pity on me and stopped. As I climbed in I felt a distinct chill from her other passenger- a man in his late twenties.
He told the woman to stop after a few minutes and climbed out of the vehicle, "Thanks for the ride, ma'am." He muttered, there was some underlying threat in his tone that I just couldn't identify.
Anyway, as he closed the door behind him I turned to watch as the woman pulled away. He lit a cigarette, and in the ashen glow, I saw a dark smirk line his lips. He had a zippo in hand (one of those lighters with a flip cap and that stays lit) and tossed it to the ground. The instant I saw the spark on the asphalt I turned back around, "Faster, we need to go faster!" I screamed at the woman, who couldn't seem to get the gas peddle any lower, we were crawling at best.
Finally I jerked open the door and shoved her out, leaping out myself just as the car exploded. I hit the asphalt of the road hard and think that in the dream I knocked myself out, because next thing I knew I had the woman draped over my back and we were running along the rooftops, the man close behind, throwing what appeared to be energy-balls at us. "You shouldn't have done it, Hellen!" He shouted almost giddily, speaking to the woman. For some reason I got the distinct impression that she'd done something that had ruined her husband. I also got the feeling that her husband had been a big time crook.
In any case, he was catching up quickly and I was running out of energy- wounded by the explosion from the woman, Hellen's, car going up in flames.
I was slowing down, and at last he hit me, knocking me towards the ground. I tucked and did my best to land safely without wounding the woman.
I continued to run once I'd landed, despite knowing that all my effort was futile. Then I came across my fellow actors who'd been walking in the street. When they saw my condition, they were shocked, "Take her," I rasped, "Hurry, get her to safety."
They quickly complied, and I realized that they were more than actors, my suspicions were comfirmed when they told me that they weren't really actors, that acting was just a cover for what they really did, which dealt with saving lives. I dunno the term they actually used, can't remember.
With the woman off my back, I could move a little easier, but even so I quickly fell behind before collapsing as I tried to run over a snowy bank. I felt myself sliding back down the hill and landed- at the feet of the very man that I had been running from. As darkness claimed my vision, I saw him smirk yet again and a dark chill passed over me.

You know... all my dreams lately seem to be dealing with me getting hurt in some situation or other... while trying to protect or save somebody o.O.
