Chapter 7: (Triks POV) Dinner with a Sadist.

Ow that stupid idiot for shooting me in the leg, it canes so bad. Though it does feel slightly better now that their doctor had a look at it, he was a bit alright. Not as cool as Dragon though and if that Blade bloke thinks he can scare me away from Dragon then he has another thing coming. I was right pissed off when I found out that were sharing a room with each other. That was so d**n unfair, I would love to share a room with Dragon, maybe a bed too. Oh well, I still haven’t met the host, Max. But dinner is quite soon so I’ll met him then. I don’t know how to feel about it though Blade makes him sound like a s*x driven maniac, but Blade was probable trying to scare me. Barstad. Well I’d better make my way to the dining room, maybe I can met Max before the others get there, so Blade can’t mock me for being terrified of him. I head out the room and down a corridor before realising I have no idea where I’m going. So I head to the main entrance hall to ask Shane for directions.

“May I ask who are you? You must be with Dragon and Blade. I dare say I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you yet.” I jumped slightly as a hard slap was placed on my arse.

“Ah. Keep ya hands of da merchandise. I’m Triks and yes I am ‘ere wit Dragon ‘n’ Blade.” I gave him a look up and down. He was hot, sexy long blond hair well toned body. Hot, maybe better looking then Dragon.

“Mmm…” he hummed in appreciation. “That’s one fine stock you got there, I might have to test it out sometime. But unfortunately we do not have the time now let me escort you to dinner.”

As he led me down a large number of corridors every now and often he would give me a lustful gaze. We now walked into what I assumed was the dining room, it was quite a big room and the round table was laid for six.

“Right seating, me on the big chair, Chaos on my right hand side and Blade next to her. Cinsanati next to him, then Dragon, then you between me and Dragon. How does that sound?” He asked me as Chaos walked in.

“Sounds great?” I asked unsure what I should say.

“Yeah a great idea, if you ignore the fact that Blade doesn’t like sadists and Cinsanati wants Blade in chains, for a bit of fun.” Chaos stated sarcastically.

“Tough I’ve already had one agreement and here’s Blade and Dragon.” Max pointed out. “Don’t tell Blade who his sitting next to, Chaos. Sit there Blade and Dragon you’re there. Chaos normal seat and Triks you know where your sitting. Hmm… Sin is late.” He sat down at his chair and everyone copied.

Chaos must be important to Max if she is at his right hand side, then again she is his adopted daughter. God I wonder what this Cinsanati character is like and what’s taking him so long. Suddenly the door crept open a tall male slipped in. the first thing that hit me was his hair, or rather the colour of it. Blue, red and purple vertically striped.

“Sorry, I’m late I had some business to attend to.” He smiled meekly to Max, his eyes swept the table locating the empty seat. “Blade it’s been a long time since I have seen you.” He sank to his seat.

“You have some blood on your arm,
Cinsanati.” Chaos smiled at him.

“Ah. So I have, thank you for pointing that out.” He got the blood off his arm with long slow lick. “So...” he turned his attention to me, he was very scary. His eyes were like an emerald pool, though they seamed so empty and hollow. “As the others do not have the manners to introduce you to me I will have to do it myself. My name is Cinsanati and what is yours?” A small smile played on his lips.

“My name is Triks, it’s nice to met you.” I said as respectably as I could. I didn’t want to get on this guys bad side, he seemed to be nice and all. But there was something not right about him, well the licking the blood of the arm thing was creepy. I think he might be a murderer, and whilst killing someone he got a cut where his victim fought back. That would explain why he was late too. Man, I’m sitting next to a killer. Oh my god his going to kill me next. I shifted my weight away from him realising that if he went for me now I was a dead man. I was in a room with only one person who had never had the though of injuring me. That’s a real chilling thought, only Max hasn’t as far as I know thought of hurting me. God I’m going to die, I know that one of these people sitting at the table is going to kill me. Right take deep breathes before you have a panic attack and forget to breathe. They’re not killing me yet, but I still have to get to the next town before I get to leave them.

“When are we going to continue to the next town, Blade?” I tried to hint that I wanted to get out of this place.

“Don’t know. I think Dragon wants to continue to find Driane, so I think we’ll leave tomorrow and nick a couple of horse from this dump. I take it you don’t want to come then.” He gave a small smirk.

“… I don’t really know.” God that guys a creep, now I don’t know what to do, this is so annoying. I can either follow my brain and avoid these maniacs or follow my heart for Dragon. Why? Why is my life so complex now? I wish I had never bothered staying to help Dragon. I’m such an idiot, his gorgeous and has powerful magic but his not worth this. I’m going to die.

“Triks are you O.K. I know that this place and the people that live here are a bit weird, but there all good people. I hope you don’t leave that soon.” Dragon smiled kindly at me. This is creepy maybe he can read mind as well, I know he can transform in to a lion like beast so it shouldn’t be beyond him to read my mind.

“Yeah I’m fine Dragon. I was just curious, that’s all.” Great now I’m even more in two minds.

“You’re going on a man hunt aren’t you? Sounds fun I might have to join. Who’s going?” Cinsanati interrupted, to my horror. Please don’t let the murderer come with us.

“Me, Dragon, Chaos and Triks…” Blade started but was interrupted by Max.

“I’m not going to leave Chaos in your care for that amount of time. I’m going to come to.” Max said firmly.

“O.k. then everyone at this table will be part of this man hunt. We shall leave at dawn.” Blade arranged.

“WHAT? I’m not getting up at that time in the morning, can’t we leave about elevenish.” Max whined.

“No, if you want to come then you will do as the group leader says and that’s me.” Blade pointed at himself.

“I think not. You don’t know the first thing about bounty hunting and I’m certainly not putting my life in your hands.” I spoke up against him. “I think Dragon should be in charge, he is the best bounty hunter in this room.”

“No, I couldn’t do that.” Dragon blushed slightly as the attention of the room turned to him. “I think that some-one else should do it.”

“I could do it.” Cinsanati said quietly, for once seaming unsure of himself. “I have bounty hunted on several occasions and am a good tracker. Also, at the end of the day where the borders of the Clans lands are.”

“NO.” Blade shock his head and got up so he could fully face Cinsanati. “There is absolutely no way that I will ever trust you to lead us to this guy. I don’t care how good you are, it’s just not worth the risk.” He rose his voice with loathe as Cinsanati looked way from him and at the ground. This had to be the first time I saw Cinsanati as a human I guess, I felt sorry for him. Which made me feel bad and he was the best one here to lead us as Dragon wouldn’t.

“Why are ya being so outa order? In fact I don’t think ya ‘ave been in order so dats a stupid question. What is wrong wit ya? He’s da best chance we ‘ave, otherwise we might as well not go.” I stood up and confronted Blade.

“What do you know? You’re just some idiot. You don’t know him and you don’t know me so keep out of it.” He snapped back.

“His right, Blade. Cinsanati is the only one who can do it.” The argument came from the one person he just couldn’t argue back with.

“But Dragon…” he gave him an appalled and pleading look. “ Please.”

“It’s settled then Cinsanati will be leading the ride and that’s final.” Chaos established. Blade stormed out of the room in a rage obviously not happy, Dragon followed him. The rest of us finished the food in silence.

You know, I feel really sorry for Triks, as well as myself...These people confuse me. Keep going, the only way to stop my confusion is to get the rest of the facts, which means reading more.

Chapter 8: (Dragon POV) Wrong Way Robbery.

So it was all decided we were all going to travel together, it might not be the best idea in the world but at least it would be interesting. The first few weeks were very uneventful apart from Triks and Blade fighting, apparently over me, but I don’t really understand. I mean what is the point of people fighting over people for something neither of them are going to get. Foolish. Max is getting annoying; he keeps asking if ‘we’re nearly there yet’ and I guess he feels a bit deprived from his normal pleasures. I knew it was a bad idea to let him come and Cinsanati is biding his time for the right moment with Blade. Though his acting unusually nice but that could be because he is around Chaos and doesn’t want to frighten her. I think Blade, Chaos and Max have bets on when his going to crack and take a knife to someone or him self for a bit of relief. Chaos has the bet on that it will be this week, I think she’s going to win. Even though I think it’s a bit cruel to put a bet on such an evil thing as hurting someone or your-self. But that’s my opinion not the others, they have to have a bit of fun. Triks didn’t bet, I think it’s because he doesn’t know Cinsanati, but Chaos said it was because I didn’t bet and that I should wake up to the fact that he likes me. Blade was in fount of the group on foot, leading his chestnut horse, then suddenly a guy leapt down from the trees above and placed a knife against Blade’s neck.

“Give us your money or your dead.” He snarled and pressed the knife closer to Blade’s neck.

“Why don’t you say your money or your life it sounds a lot more dramatic and cooler.” Blade stated with humour.

“What? Just shut up and give me your money.” The robber snapped. Blade sighed, before suddenly grabbing the mans wrist and with a quick twist the man dropped the knife. Cutting his leg as he did so, Blade place a hard punch on the guys nose and the robber fell backwards.

“Blade that was rather aggressive.” Cinsanati pointed out, “Poor fellow” He ruffled the robbers chocolate brown hair. Cinsanati knelt down so his face was in line with the robber, “He has such pretty blue eyes.” He admired placing a hand on his cheek. The robber quickly pulled his face back out of Cinsanati’s grip.

“Hay. Keep your hands off me, creep.” He jumped back and glared angrily at Cinsanati.

“That wasn’t very nice. Oh well you can kill him now Blade. He isn’t what I’m look for.” Cinsanati got up calmly and gave Blade the knife on the floor.

“What? Wait. Wait. I was just shocked that’s all. I didn’t mean what I said.” He begged, wow Cinsanati knew how to manipulate people. Now I understand why Blade is uneasy around him, is an evil manipulative, sadist. Who knows how to get his own way, which is very dangerous.

“I’m glad you have recovered from your shock. now may I ask what your name is?” He asked tranquilly.

“Uh yeah. It’s Kristan. What is yours?” he asked trying to act relaxed. It wasn’t working very well, though I don’t blame him.

“Cinsanati. Now let me have a look at your leg.” Cinsanati rolled up Kristan’s loose trousers. Kristan took a deep breath in, not knowing what to expect. “It’s only a shallow scratch, nothing too deep.” He lent close and licked the blood off the wound. Kristan gave a horrified look and shuddered with disgust. He was not in a good position; he could either speak against Cinsanati and be killed or save his skin and do as Cinsanati said which was not smart. Poor thing, I doubt Blade would actually kill him, but I guess he decided not to take that chance.

“Come on. We’d better continue, you can ride with me on my horse.” He smiled at the robber before helping him mount his horse and followed.

“I take it I won then.” Chaos smiled nervously, before she spoke quietly to Max, I could just about make out what she said. “Do you think that, that guy is o.k. Cinsanati can be a bit well vicious sometimes and we know nothing about Kristan.” She looked quite worried. Max didn’t reassure her, I doubt he knew what to say, as he just nodded.

“Hey Dragon. Is Cinsanati always dat scary ‘n’ weird?” Triks quizzed me curiously.

“Yeah. I hate to say so. I feel quite sorry for Kristan, I don’t know what to do though. Cinsanati is always unpredictable, there’s no good in messing with him.” I sighed, Cinsanati was the best for the job. He was just so impulsive.

“Kristan said that he has a horse and other equipment a little way away. Is it o.k. to pick it up Dragon, it would be faster if he had a horse too.” Cinsanati requested.

“It sounds fine to me.” I replied, I didn’t really need to he would have done it if I had said no anyway. We rode through the thick foliage, the horses getting more and more unsettled.

“Huh? What in hells name is that thing?” Cinsanati had spotted a giant winged creature with the legs of a lion, the body of a human and the head of a lizard.

“Ha. I thought it was you, but your going the wrong way. What an odd group this is a lion, a falcon, a couple of thieves and a few bounty hunters.” The creature spoke directly to Chaos and ignored Cincanati’s comment.

“Er yeah.” Chaos replied doubtfully, “We’ve come to pick up a horse and some equipment.”

“That makes sense. There is also a cave up a head, I would take cover if I was you, there’s a storm on the way.” He nodded to the clear blue sky.

“What? It’s a perfectly good day, not a cloud in the sky.” Max pointed out.

“Isn’t there.” The creature smiled. Huge threatening clouds seamed to speed across the sky, until there was no sight of the sun. It had become so dark so quickly, and lightening ripped across the heavens.

“What? Did you do that?” Chaos stared wide eyed at the creature.
It laughed slightly,
“Would I do something like that? You’d better hurry along or your get soaked in this downpour.” He spread his wings getting ready to fly, “and do try to get rid of some of that bad atmosphere in the group. You won’t succeed if you don’t.” and with that he was gone.

“That was creepy.” Cinsanati dismounted from his horse, before helping Kristan down. “Kristan and Blade will fetch the horse, while the rest of us search for the cave.” He ordered. The cave was quite easy to find, it was like a mine. Blade and Kristan returned shortly with his horse.

Poor Kristan. I mean I haven't seen a lot of Cinsanati, but it's enough to tell that Kristan is in to some deep sh*t.

Dragon really needs to wake up and snog Triks, I think we'll all be happier, and Max needs to wake up and admit he loves Blade. Poor Chaos has no one.

*hugs precious Dragon character* his coyness is what makes him sweet... most people want him and Blade to get together but i'm keeping that a secret about what happens (which means i haven't writen it yet). Chaos gets her knight in shining armour later on. oh and btw the long line of dots in the speech marks is a different language i made some really good lettering stuff in paint but you can't see it.. all my hard work has turned to nothing.

Chapter 9: (Blade POV) Settlements.

Kristan seamed to be an o.k. bloke. He was quite shy and didn’t talk much when we went to get his horse. Poor thing having to put up with Cinsanati, he’s a total barstad. I ruffled Dragons snowy white hair and sat on the hard floor next to him and Chaos. I shifted me weight a bit and lent into the warm inviting light of the fire. Everyone was gathered together, not having any chose as it was still tipping it down outside. That beast was evil, god I hate him. We’re losing ground from Driane, which is not good.
“Well as we’re all together we might as well sort out this bad atmosphere, like he said.” Chaos sighed “Triks you can start off as your less likely to kill someone.”
“Uh? What do I say and what do I do?” he looked clueless at Chaos.
“Well get up and say what you really feel about each person, it doesn’t all have to be bad though.” She explained.
“Um. O.k I’ll start with you. Your… well nice, I don’t really know you that well so I can’t say anything much. Max you’re well annoying some of the time. Dragon well… er… you’re really well… good looking. Cinsanati, I think you’re a murderer and don’t really trust you and Blade you have an attitude problem. You’re really mean and I don’t have a clue why.” Triks sat down quickly. Cinsanati was in a laughing fit, Dragon looked confused and so did Max.
“Me annoying? I think not, it’s just your easily aggravated.” Max pouted slightly.
“He has a point Max, you are quite annoying sometime. Especially when you go on and on about nothing in particular.” Chaos pointed out. “Cinsanati why don’t you go next. Try to be reasonable.”
Cinsanati came forward in to the fire light from his place against the wall. “o.k. I’ll do my best. Max you are really annoying for once in your life please shut up. Triks, your o.k. maybe slightly paranoid about the killer thing, but your otherwise in my good book. Dragon, not much to say to you either, your slightly weird but I’m in no place to comment. Blade…” he paused slightly trying to think of what to say to me. This will be good. “I know you’ve had problems in your past with people like me, but not all of us are like that. I admit I’m not a saint, but I wouldn’t hurt you in that way. Chaos you great, fine nothing much to say. A bit bossy sometimes and you act too mature. Well that’s it the pain is over.” He smiled and returned to Kristan who was at the back of the cave.
“I’ll go next if I may.” Max stood up. “Triks’ you’re so hot and sexy I have nothing against you. Dragon you’re cute and innocent I have nothing against you. Blade, I’m sorry I’m not the man you’re looking for and I’m not willing to change and so your search continues… but still if you fancy a shag sometime then I’m always here for you. I can now understand the comments you made last time we met and I get what you mean. And really I just want to say sorry. Cinsanati, you a dirty B*st*rd, I think I might have to spank you after all this stuff is over with. Chaos you are the coolest daughter ever and you’re my best friend.” Max brushed his hair out of his eyes and smiled happily.
“Blade? Do you want to say something now?” Chaos asked me cautiously.
“Yeah o.k. Triks I don’t like you. You’re walking a very thin white line and if step off that line your in trouble. Max I accept your apologies and I was out of order to you, I know you can’t change who you are. Cinsanati, d**n right I’ve had problems and the way you behave I believe your just the same as him. Dragon love you just stay the way you are and I’m happy. Chaos I believe it’s your go.”
“Great. Well Triks there isn’t much to say about you, but please be straight forward about your feelings towards Dragon. Dragon, wake up, you have to be aware of the fact that what people say and how they feel are sometimes different. Blade you’re being really out of order to Triks and I think you’re too possessive over Dragon. He has to learn things about people by himself. Cinsanati let Kristan go you’re pretty much holding him captive. Max I love you and all, but you need to get a grip on reality and hold on to it. You need to learn responsibility, cause in that respect you make lousy father. You never keep your promises and although when you do spend time with me it’s cool, you don’t do it enough. I know I’m living with Butch a lot but when I do stay with you I hardly see you. Dragon no good avoiding eye contact it’s your go.”
Dragon was staring a hole in to the ground probably hoping it would swallow him. Better luck next time mate, he hates attention from big crowds, it daunts him. He’s so cute when his shy, aw bless him.
“Umm I don’t know what to say. Blade you should be nicer to most people. Max you scare me slightly. Triks you confuse me sometimes. Cinsanati you’re a good bounty hunter but unpredictable and aggressive. Chaos you’re determined, that can be a good thing and a bad thing.” He sat down swiftly after his quick and quiet speech.
“Does anyone have a comment on what has just been said?” Chaos looked around the cavern.
“Yeah, Sorry. I guess I don’t spend that much time with you but from here on in I have officially changed in to a perfect father. Hey I’m joining you on this little trip aren’t I? So you better get use to this face cos there is no hiding from it any more.” Max replied joyfully.
“I’m not letting Kristan go.” Cinsanati was not looking happy to say the least. He was in full war mode. “All I need is one vote of agreement from another person and it is so.”
“But that rule only applies to small things like seating arrangements and activity to do. Not something as important as whether you enslave someone or not.” Max pointed out as he stood up ready to face Cinsanati if there was some conflicted.
“The rule doesn’t state at what extent it maybe used.” Cinsanati smirked.
“Then go ahead you have two chances to appeal to someone for agreement.” Max glared. “I doubt you can do that.”
“I will only need one.” Cinsanati smirked, he delicately made his way towards Dragon, he glared at Chaos. She picked up on what he wanted and moved out his way. He knelt next to Dragon, “..................................................” Great I have no idea what his saying, but I bet it’s not good.
