Hello participants and hopefuls, and welcome to “The Valley”, the center of NW’s RP community. I hope you’re eager to begin, but first, some strict guidelines have been enacted for your benefit; please take your time reading and understanding these guidelines, as failure to adhere to them will likely result in repercussions.
First, all members must understand that all board rules are still applicable here. This area of the site is still well within the bounds of the initial rules.
Secondly, the first requirement for participation is a profile, posted in the profile sub-board for this forum. The Specific profile guidelines are found here. Be sure to only use one thread per member.
Third, a minimum post limit is imposed here. The standard minimum is five (5) lines of grammatically correct, spell checked text for a computer with a 1024x768 setting for it's monitor resolution. The more, the better, however.
Fourth, repeated issues here or outside of this board may result in rp expulsion.
Fifth, as of now, only moderators may commence rps.
Sixth, it is in you benefit to be familiar with the actions of your fellow participants in order to prevent plot-holes.
Seventh, no fanfiction-esque references to existing franchises, including the prevention of "recolor" characters.
Eighth, respect each other, and the process.
Ninth, welcome all new participants warmly; do not discriminate against newbies openly: if you have an issue with someone's rping, bring it to my attention via PM before confronting the accused.
Tenth, we have zero toleration for sexual role playing (i.e. cybering or dating). We are not a dating/s*x site.
Eleventh, the administrative staff is in ultimate control of this environment, and will deal with issues as they see necessary in a fair, expeditious, and comprehensive manner.
Twelfth, do not badger other members; respect real life obligations. Similarly, if a long term obligation is approaching with your foreknowledge, write your character into a position where your absence cannot hinder any other participants. Prolonged absence may result in a moderator moving you. Emergencies obviously come up, and do not feel pressured if they do occur, however, remember the old adage "A lack of preparation on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
Finally, PM, email, or IM me with any concerns. If I am not available, contact another moderator or administrator that is active in the rp.
All in all, be respectful of these guidelines and you will have a lovely time. On behalf of the staff, I wish you the best of luck.
