Hello! I'm Keshuoo *chorus*Hello Keshuoo!*chorus* I've been writing for a while now. I very first serious work was when I was 11. It was a Mary Sue fanfiction*hangs head in shame* Yeah, it was pretty bad. I still have it, and occasionally I pull it out when I need a good laugh at myself. But I try not to think about those days anymore. I write original fiction now that is mostly inspired by obscure dreams that I have. Anyway, I've said too much I hope to enjoy my time here! Keshuoo

*chorus*Hello Keshuoo!*chorus*
Now that that's out of the way, hey, I'm Meluivan or M as everyone calls me. And don't feel bad. I think whether anyone wants to admit it or not their first fic always ends up being a Mary Sue. I know mine was. It is now hidden away never to be seen again in the light of day. I then progressed to OCs that aren't complete Mary Sues and now I write completely canon characters. I'm still into fanfiction but my OCs have gone by the wayside and they shall stay there for most of eternity.
So anyhow, welcome, welcome and if you need anything at all feel free to ask. You'll find that we are all pretty helpful here and try to just have a good time.
Enjoy the site.

Welcome to the site, glad to have you on board. And yeah, as M pointed out, I'm sure we all started out with Mary Sue-esque stories. I know I sure did, and sadly, they keep cropping up all over the place.^^;;
Needless to say, I've also moved on to better things. I hope to see some of your writings, it's always fun to read new things^^

Um... guys? What's a Mary Sue? Despite what you might be thinking, I'm serious. And if you're laughing, I'm still serious. *feels totally dumb*
And welcome to the site, Keshuoo!!! Glad to have you hear! I'm an old member who... well, admittedly I got lazy then very busy and had to go MIA from here for a while, but I'm back now! haha So a big huge welcome hug from me! I know you're gonna love it here!
Hugs, Anna

Dreamer, a Mary Sue is an original character, female, in fan-fiction who is usually to perfect to be true, and almost always develops a relationship with one of the cannon characters. And along the same lines a Gary Stu is the male version of such. Serious fan-fiction writers try desperately to avoid this horrible persona, and anyone daring to post one in a serious ff community risks the everliving flame of their life's work.
Now there is a big difference between an OC and a Mary Sue. Mary Sue is the center of the story and the cannon characters take a back seat. OC's are worked into the story and usually just support cannon characters. I personally like OCs to some extent, but Mary Sue must die.
Hope this helps some.

OC's can be great fun if properly handled, and are sometimes even used in professional, non-canonical side stories.
