Well I stole this from Livejournal but since it took me forever to do it I figured I'd post it here too.
1. One of the earliest songs you can remember listening to:
Alabama - Roll On
Yeah well we were raised on country music so this is what I remember the most.
2. Song from the artist you last saw live:
Garth Brooks - The Night I Called The Old Man Out
Well I haven't been to a concert since 1993. My lord that's sad.
3. Song you currently can't get out of your head:
Semisonic - Closing Time
Ever since I heard this song it won't go away. I'm even writing a songfic based on it. Just love every second of it.
4. Song by someone who is dead:
Falco - Rock Me Amedeus
This was one of the coolest songs I thought I ever heard when I was a kid.
5. Song you discovered from a film:
Canned Heat - Let's Work Together
Okay let's face it The Replacements was a campy movie, but d**n did Keanu Reeves look fine in that football jersey. And the scene in jail where they were all singing this song was priceless.
6. Song you love to sing along to:
Smash Mouth - All Star
It's just so d**n much fun. I know so typical but I can't not sing with it.
7. Song you totally misunderstood the first time you heard it:
Dixie Cups - Iko Iko
I had no clue what the lyrics of this song meant but I absolutely loved it from the first time I heard it. Now I know that it is a New Orleans Mardi Gras song about (Black Indians) the parade crewes that perform in the Madigras parades. Awesomely passionate song if you look up the meanings to the words.
8. Love song:
Scarlet - Independent Love Song
I seriously didn't consider this to be a love song when I first heard it. Honestly it was just s*x, plain and simple, but there is something so honest and beautiful about it.
9. Song that makes you nostalgic:
Elton John ft. George Michael - Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me
Other than being a gorgeous song, sang by two of the best performers ever, this was the first song that I ever danced to on my very first date and it will always hold meaning for me.
10. Song that makes you cry:
Jann Arden - Insensitive
It may be called insensitive but there is nothing insensitive about the feeling in this song.
11. Song that makes you laugh:
Cobra Starship - I Kissed A Boy
I just heard this for the first time yesterday and I listened to it about ten times in a row listening to the lyrics and laughing my a** off.
12. Song that makes you want to dance:
Crystal Waters - 100% Pure Love
I used to dance to this song every friday night when we went clubbing. Man I miss those days. Yes, I'm speaking of the early 90's. God I'm old.
13. Song with food in the title:
Don McLean - American Pie
Classic. One of the best songs I've ever heard.
14. Song that creeps you out:
H.I.M. - Wings of a Butterfly
Okay talking about ripping off the wings of a butterfly is sort of creepy but it's still one of my favorite songs ever.
15. Really good cover song:
Robbie Williams - Kooks (David Bowie cover)
I know alot of people detest Robbie but I just love him and covering a Bowie song is priceless.
16. Song about dreaming or waking up:
Meatloaf - Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through
This used to be my anthem at one time. I listened to it day and night for months on end.
17. Song you like only because of the title:
Lee Rocker - Funny Car Graveyard
The song itself I could take or leave but that title just makes me smile.
18. Song you like from an artist that you otherwise don't like:
Britney Spears - Blackout (Entire Album)
I hated her until I heard this album and loved most of it. Go figure.
19. Song you hate:
Tiny Tim - Tip Toe Thru the Tulips
I downloaded this for a friend but it absolutely gives me the creeps. I can't even stand to turn it on.
20. Wildcard:
Garth Brooks - In Lonesome Dove
Pearl Jam - Black (acoustic)
21. Song that would define your personality or life or something defining about you:
Michelle Branch - You Get Me
This song describes me better than anything else I've ever seen. And there are a few people out there that do get me. And I love them more than anything in the world. This especially goes for Idril, Ri, Ark, Mage, Al and Raven. I know it's a love song but I do love you all like family, so it still sort of fits.
