Okay I guess we probably need a place to discuss Poe's works because we started chatting about him in a different board. But anyway, here we can discuss our favorite works by Poe, why it is/was our favorite, and anything else about him that you want to share.
So....chat it up.

Ok, so no one has mentioned my favorite poe yet. The Masque of the Red Death. That story fasinated me. Oh I knew what was happening the instant before I read it and every second of it I enjoyed with a rather uncharateristic excitement as he came through and killed them all. It was absolutely gorgous, with an emphasis on gore. The idea that those who run will get their just deserves, it's truely a work of art!

OH yes!! I've read that one. It was very vividly put in my mind; I could imagine it all perfectly. But for some reason, when I read Poe's work, it goes very quickly in my mind. The three that I remember very perfectly in great detail are The Black Cat, The Cask of Amantillado, and The Tell-Tale Heart. Otherwise, they seem like they went horribly fast in my mind; I must reread them. The Masque of Red Death, however, was gory and it was awesome. *pats Ark on the head* You may address me as Ri, still, Nii-san.

The the Masque of Red Death was alright, but still not my favorite. Lords, The Fall of the House of Usher causes paranoia.

See I didn't care that much for the Fall of the House of Usher. The only one of his stories that honestly freaked me out though was the Black Cat. *Cringes* Have you ever heard that song? The cat came back the very next day? Those two things seriously creep me out.
The really weird one is that I know someone who read The Bells and hasn't been able to stand repition since. She's a horror fan who loves gore and Steven King but if you say "Bells bells bells." she freaks out.

Heh. ^^;; I own a black cat. He's a sweetheart and resting in my lap....
I haven't read The Fall of the House of Usher yet, or The Bells...I'll definitely look them up though. I have two Poe books on my bookcase. I just won't read them at night. xD
