To avoid clutter, answered inquiries that qualify as frequently asked questions are being posted here in an easily updated, space saving area.
How do I view (Above Teen) fanfiction? – pinkie
You have to PM M, Meluivan Indil, and say you are old enough to view adult content or your parents said you could. –Riona
How do you READ a story? – fremnikflare
The first one is the story, normally. This is a full on forum, therefore, files are not uploaded to submit a story, rather, they are submitted in a copy-paste style, with appropriate HTML coding added in to emulate any formatting the author desires.
And if you're only seeing replies, make sure you go to page one of the thread for each story. Some spread onto multiple pages, and chapters are normally broken up by a series of comments.
This merging of comment and actual story pages saves space, makes the site load faster, and is much more accessible to the reader who likes to read quickly. –Ark
Copyright? -ringoajidakimasu
We have no legal copyright protection on any of the stories on Novice Writers, but we ask that with each story there is a disclaimer stating what belongs to the owner. If you're looking to re-post stories you see on here, you could send the author a message and ask them politely. If you're looking to post your own story but want some sort of protection on it, you can feel free to create your own Creative Commons License. I hope this helps you! –Idril
Ok so now I'm curious about this. I know a double post is posting twice, but I don't understand the circumstances in which it is or is not appropriate. For instance, I have stories that no one reviews so I keep boosting chapters up. That is or isn't a double post? Where are the lines drawn or is it all circumstantial? – Wyvernwings
Yes, Wyve, you are correct. Asking for a review would be considered a double post. Adding a new chapter would not. Also posting something inconsequential like "lol" or a smiley just to bump a non story thread would be considered double posting also. –M
Currently this board is not accepting members that are under 13, and I'm 5 months away from being 13. My birthday's on the 27th of August. I want to submit. Should I lie about my age? –Guest
This is just my opinion, but no, I don't think you should lie about your age. -Riona
