"She came home"
with the smell of another man's cologne and said nothing, just sat at the edge of the bed and quietly undressed before snuggling under the covers facing away from me.
I put an arm around her, held her close. I can still smell him on her and the way she held him, the way he smothered her in ways I cannot. But at the end of the night she comes home to me, and sleeps
in this bed. The bed we've shared for so long, and no other man's smell can permeate the stench of a married couple, keeping secrets from one another.
