Say a prayer, smile for me, show me that I bring you joy, Pick me up and play with me, don’t leave this lonely toy. Tell me that I make you laugh and that you need my care, Construct a way for me to see you know I’m always there. Let your heart here again, that place was once well-known, Fill me with bliss at knowing you’re not better off alone. Sail with me away once more on waves of velvet seas, Lose yourself in my soul and feel this timeless sense with me. Renew the flames; don’t make me feel all the warmth has gone, Remove my smile from my face, pretty little princess putting it on. Impede the stream and wipe away the tears that I have bled, Prove to me my soothing words weren’t better left unsaid. I hate to see you feel so down; it burns harshly at my soul, Let me know you feel my love before I lose control. ____________________________________________ I'm not pretty (or vain) but 'pretty little princess' was a nickname for me from someone. The one who I wrote this for has since left me and decided to pursue a relationship with a fellow male, which, I'm sure most women will agree with me, is a serious kick in the teef
