[shadow=violet,left,300]It is a strange feeling the one you get as you watch the sea. when the waves pound the shore you realize how small you really are.
As the storm comes you can sense it feel it in the air, breathe it, pressing onto you until it finally breaks and the world is fresh again, filled with new blessing.
That is the time that I like the most, the moments before the storm when the wind blows wild and you can smell the rain. when the sea is powerful and gray and all you can hear are the pounding waves but amoung it all is a feeling of silence and calm.
That is when I know I am not afraid so I spread my arms, and welcome the coming rain.[/shadow] [glow=blue,2,300]~NIGHTINGALE~[/glow]

squee! I love it! We visited a beach in Trinidad, California...I see it when I read this, perfectly, as if I were still there.

I'm really glad you like it! When I wrote this I thought of a hurricane. I live in Florida and we get them a lot. I like the time before the storm breaks as you can see! ;D

I love this. I live right near the beach in Maine, and boy, you described it perfectly!

I am a former resident of Florida, and you definately described it perfectly.
Not only do we have Florida in common, but your poem sounds like my exact feelings. I love the rain. I love to go on long car rides and watch the rain trickle against the window pane. Oh my. This might inspire me to write my own poem. It is so lovely.
The one thing I miss about Florida is the Beach. As a child we used to go to Englewood Beach every other weekend. Those were happy times. Which Beach do you go to?
Okay I know. I'm rambling again.
