I wrote this poem last year for class...
Winter Storms
For once I thought, Of the swirling storm, White now, As once it was full of vibrant color, The moon would shine brightly, Ever calling me to the trees, Now what once tempted me so, So distant it seems now, I care not to leave, The warmth of my fire keeps me, It heats my frozen appendages, And pleasures me so, I care not to walk in the frozen land, Where once I pranced along, My friends sleep long, And wake not until the warmth of spring arrives, Alone for a while, It is no bother, As I while away the time, Staring into the hot coals, Soon the white would disappear, And in its place shall be many a cloudless night, When I should be tempted into the trees, Fruitful for a while, To be with my friends forever more.
