I wrote this a few years ago, and recently pulled it out. I did a few modifications. Here goes:
Fate is sometimes perceived as a controversial word. Some people believe in it whole heartedly, while others shake their heads and say there is no such thing.
I never really gave much thought to the idea of fate, let alone it playing a huge part in my life and happiness.
Fate, I believe, thought I had lived a little bit of a naive life, so she threw a curve ball to get my attention. The curve ball was this horrid, sleaze-ball of a man named Ralph. Just thinking of him gives me a horrible, foul taste in my mouth. I was terribly desperate to find someone i could call my boyfriend, so I settled on him. The first few weeks, things seemed to be going alright, then came the night were it all changed. He had been pressuring me to give him the one thing that most men want. s*x. I said fine, and that was that. My so-called relationship came to an end four months later, when I told him "NO," and he walked out. Charming, I know.
Now, after i cried some tears of stupidity, a friend invited me to see a movie to cheer me up. This is where fate unveiled herself again. The theatre was packed, so the eight of us had to split up to find seats, and I found myself sitting next to my friends friend, named Miles. Now, the two of us talked, and cracked jokes all throughout the movie. Two days later, we were going out on our first date. Things ended a year and a half later because he hadn't grown up, and I was trying to.
Fate took a holiday for a few months, then popped up again, and gave me the opportunity to do a little on-line dating. Now, here is the twist, it was my choice to go on the computer, but I think fate made us bump into each other on-line. This person is named Steph. We talked on the phone, and went out on a few dates before we decided to make it exclusive.
And they lived happily-ever after.
Well, sort of. We got married a year and a half later, and had our first daughter a year after that. Our second daughter was just born a few months ago.
I believe that if it wasn't for fate and some critical choices, I wouldn't be where I am today, with my husband.
The end.
