This probably isn't all that great, but it's a poem I wrote after thinking of how there are people who say they are patriots and yet are against the war because they believe it doesn't involve us. I also was thinking of the people who are involved in the war but are hardly heard.
Warrior far from home. He fights for freedom, He fights for his love left behind.
Hear the words spoken, Objecting to his fight. Do they understand?
He shows love for his country. Why isn’t it seen? Or has sight been lost?
Those who hide Call themselves patriots. Yet don’t see the fight for freedom.
Those who fight Stand tall but aren't heard. Long the fight for their people.
Who will stand With our warriors? The patriots who fight for truth.
Who will see, They fight for those lost. They fight for those still here.
