Well, double post, but I've been to concerts lately so there. xD
So I saw Josh Groban last night, Saturday, and it was amazing! I don't remember the name of the band that opened for them, but they were from Africa, and they were so good! They were really energetic, and had some really nice opinions about life. The singer was dancing and stuff and it was really great. She came out later on to sing something with Josh, I've totally forgotten what it was now. o.o But anyway.
The concert started off wonderfully. The music started and we heard Josh singing before he came up on stage through a trapdoor. He was so hyper...running around and rarely standing still. He said at one point in time, "I'm caffeinated and ready to go!" and he was talking about a million miles an hour. It was hilarious.
There was one point in time near the end of the concert when fan(girls) rushed the stage and Josh finished his song, looked at them, and said, "Whenever I see a crowd this big, and so many people at the front of the stage...it makes me want to sit down." So he went to the edge the stage, sat down, and as he was, he was like, "Oh please no groping." XD My friend and I nearly died laughing; it was great.
When he was going to play a song on the piano (I think the February Song), he started singing Journey, and Elton John, and he was like, "Okay, I really wish I had a jug of 7up and vodka. I'd sing karaoke all night."
It was a really great concert. Josh sounds literally the exact same singing live as he does on the CDs. I was amazed. He is definitely someone to see.

Aww how fun, Ri! I wonder if I know of the band that was on before. I can't remember the name right now either... of course. Josh is always hyper, it's such a riot. Did you ever see his concert cd/dvd at the Greek? My mind is blown, I can't remember if we've already talked about that, lol. OH! And did you see the video on Michael Buble's Caught In The Act dvd when he "surprised" Michael? Man, I wish I could remember. But anyway, if you didn't, it's a riot. Did he sing "So She Dances"? I think that's my favorite song on the album. My absolute favorite is still "Mi Morena" which was a bonus track on the Closer album, I think. I don't know why, but I just love everything about that one. Anyway, glad you had a wonderful time! ;D

Well lets just say that I got to see one of the best performances of my life not too long ago.
Mr. Weird Al Yankovic
Simply put, the man has a great personality (obviously, since he is a comedian after all, so you can only imagine the shows)
If you've ever heard about his live shows, or been able to go see him, you know that he really does get into costume for every song.
Coming out as Kurt Cobain for Smells Like Nirvana, in the fat suit for Fat dressed as a Jedi for The Saga Begins and Yoda.
so on so on.
At one point he did a medley of some of his older songs, for long time fans (like myself) and people who just looked back and found all the old songs he did.
Some of his song lyrics were changed. For example, the song Headline News, for anyone who knows it, is about certain events that happened to people.
Well...for the live show, there was a new verse dedicated to our beloved Paris Hilton ^.^
So lets move on
Saturday, while LadyRiona was out at Josh Groban I was at Family Values
just a rundown of the bands
Droid Neurosonic Trivium Hell Yeah Flyleaf Atreyu Evanescence Korn
Plus a few small bands on a smaller stage that played as people were getting there.
So lets just say...Droid was lame, end of story
Neurosonic was very interresting. A smaller, up and coming band (I hope). Mixing a higher pitched voice, and alot of spoken word parts in their songs, with fewer heavy guitar riffs, they really stood out.
After their set, the band members were all standing by one of the mech stands, selling cds and signing them.
So of course I bought one, got it signed, and stayed to talk to them for a few minutes.
A really funny group of guys who just love playing their music.
Trivium...no one cares about.
Hell Yeah... eh, a heavy southern rock band with a song about alcohal..so I'm not a big fan of them either.
Flyleaf however... A heavy Christian Rock band with a female vocalist, who's live performance really makes you feel something. Not to mention they have the single most ridiculous bass player I've ever watched. (I never knew someoen could jump that high...)
Atreyu, again, I dont care for.
Evanescence was easily the most surprising act. Amy Lee's stage presence...well basicaly, you cant ignore her, and she easily has one of the most powerful live voiced I've ever heard.
Their show is simple. Some lights, but not too much, and other than that its simply the band playing their songs, and Amy Lee controlling the entire crowd. Definately an act worth seeing.
KoRn. To make it short they are great performers, and its one of the most unique shows I've ever seen. (This was my 3rd time seeing them live, and its much different than the last two times even)

I've heard that Evanescence is great to see live. One of my friends saw them and he was like, "It was amazing." Glad to hear you had a great time, Vexli. Idril - you showed me the video with Josh and Michael Buble. That was a riot. And no I haven't seen the video of Josh at the Greek. I do own one of his concert CD/DVD mix things but it was a while ago. I got it like three Christmases ago? Long time ago. He seems like he'd be a great guy to spend the day with....I'd have him sing everything at me. *dreamy sigh* EDIT: yes he did sing "So She Dances" and it was funny. When he finished, he was like "I asekd the girlfriend I was with at the time...'dances through constellations and dreams'? Really, baby? Really?" And then he said in a dreamy, girly voice, "Yeah.." It was funny.

Well, the other day I saw the Projekt Revolution tour.
To be blunt, Likin Park was A-MAY-ZING. They put ona great show and really get the crowd going. But My Chemical Romance is nothing short of AH-MAY-ZING!! They had pyrotechnics and for one song, two drummers. Both of them are incredible live performances. Gerard Way breaks out into random song while onstage, it's great.
H.I.M. is good live. I didn't know it was possible to scream and smoke at the same time and never see the smoke come back, but Ville Valo can do it. Who knew? He doesn't get very into it though...
Taking Back Sunday tried really hard, but people didn't all really seem to like them. They put on a very energetic performance, but the crowd wasn't very hyped for them.
Placebo, well, the guy's voice is a little high-pitched for me. But he's English!
Julien-K was interesting, but people barely responded. Most people didn't even bother to stand until H.I.M. came on.
Mindless Self Indulgence puts on an entertaining live show. Jimmy has a more, shall we say, Gerard 'Way' of doing things. (HAHAHA! I kill me) And he had a tux jaket with long tails the said 'AS SEEN ON T.V.'. Who wouldn't love that?
The Bled... meh. Not too great. I couldn't understand what he was bellowing at me.
I could kind of hear Madina Lake, but I missed the performance.
I missed Saosin too, which is a shame because everyone tells me they're good and I wanted to see them.
Styles of Beyond I missed and I don't care that I missed.
I think that's everyone in no particular order. But they played in... this order, I think:
Madina Lake The Bled Styles of Beyond Saosin Mindless Self Indulgence Julien-K Placebo H.I.M. Taking Back Sunday My Chemical Romance (W00T!!!) Likin Park
I feel like I forgot somebody, but that's about it. It was great though. The Bled aside, all the performances were amazing. Especially MCR and LP. (And MCR)
One of the most entertaining things was that people could send in texts to the number on the screen and eveyone could see them. There were a lot of 'Will You Marry Me's, 'This Is SPARTA!'s, and tone of things that said 'Scream if you...'. I screamed a lot.

So I just got back from a Lifehouse concert. It...was...awesome!!! I'll upload some pics later - have not the time, equipment, or energy to do so now. But they played their most recent big hits like "For the First Time" and "You and Me," but they also did some "not so known" songs, which rocks. They did some older stuff off their first album, like "No Name Face". There was just a lot of great energy. When they did "Broken", which is my favorite song by them, Jason (singer) looked like he was going between about to pass out and wanting to stand there and cry. I'm constantly amazed at how into their music they are, how passionate. When he finished singing, he went on his knees and did and awesome guitar riff, then stood up and leaned/fell back a little and was like, "We are Lifehouse, thank you all so much!" and started singing a little again. But I was so close to crying, as well, during that song simply because it seems so emotional, and it seems really close to Jason. But that's just my speculation and reading people. The opening band, Melee, was really awesome. They were like a mixture of The Killers and Muse. They're from California. They were a really good listen, so if you guys haven't heard them before and want some new tunes, give them a look up. That's all. I'm too tired to think straight anymore.
