[glow=red,2,300]Rated K, I think[/glow]
Note: This was meant to be a song, but since it doesn't have a tune yet, it's a poem. And yes I know it's rough in some places.
It's talking to this current generation. Have you noticed that there are tons and tons of songs written about love, in all sorts of cultures even besides the U.S? I'm just sick of them, well mostly. That's what I had in mind when writing this. So many people in this generation treat love like it doesn't mean anything. They mis-use it so much and don't even know what it really means to love. So many people are obsessed and it's all they ever care about, and well I could explain more, but you can read the poem ;D If you have a question, don't hesitate to ask.
O Generation, Generation,
Why do you sing so much of love?
O Generation, Generation,
What is this love that you sing so much of?
Is it that you're empty?
Is it that you're lonely?
Is it that you see no one who cares?
Is it that there's no one you can turn to?
So you find someone who says they love you,
Then they leave you when they've got their share?
And now you're all alone again,
Wondering if you'll go insane,
Singing of the love you thought you once had,
Looking for love in all the wrong places,
Without knowing what True love's face is,
Or what Truth is...
Let me tell you of this Love I found,
In Jesus Christ, is this Love,
Let me tell you of this Hope I found,
Hope in God above!
I don't know this love you sing of,
I don't know if it is real,
I don't know if it's fulfilling,
Or if it's just another god to which you kneel...
But let me tell you of this Love I found,
In Jesus Christ, is this Love,
Let me tell you of this Hope I found,
Hope in God above!
O you Generation, Stop pretending it's all OK,
Don't play make believe!
Stop pretending you've got the best way,
It's not like it's all you need!
You worship this Love like an idol
Not knowing who the True God is,
Not believing that Truth Exists,
Let me tell you what True Love is,
'In this is love: It's not that we have loved God,
But that He loved us and sent His Son
To be the propitiation for our sins'**
'Love is patient and kind,
Love does not envy or boast,
It's not arrogant or rude,
It doesn't insist on it's own way,
It's not irritable or resentful,
It does not rejoice at wrongdoing,
But rejoices with the Truth...
Love never ends'*
Love's these descriptions,
It's not about sensations,
It's about God above,
Because God is Love...
You seek love--O Generation,
But I tell you, seek God,
The One you rejected and offended,
The One who Created you and died for you,
Then, you will get unfailing and fulfilling True Love!
*Quoted from 1 John 4:10 in the Bible.
[* The word 'propitiation' is hard to explain. 'Propitiate' means 'appease' which means 'to satisfy'. I think that's the right meaning because Jesus satisfied God's wrath while on the cross.
*Quoted from 1 Corinthians 13:4 of the Bible.
