It's been a while since I've been here. It's good to be back. Anyway, I found this site yesterday when I did a search for anything that might pay to have your poetry published. I wanted to see if anyone else knew about it and if it's actually worth trying. I probably won't be doing a book of poetry, but it'll still be a way to have something published and help in getting money. So, here's the site: Create SpaceI didn't really know where to put this thread, so I hope this is an okay place. I'm so tired that I probably missed the right section.

Hon, I'm gonna move this to the Submit Ideas section of Writing Tools. It would be the best place to put it.
And as far as self publication, from what I've heard it's a bad idea all together. I'm not saying that no one can make it, but it's supposed to be really hard. I know I've talked to an agent at one point in time who publishes the type of stuff I like to write. And that's probably the way I'd go if I was ever to finish anything publishable.
I will tell you how I went about finding the agent. I found a few authors who write similar stuff to what I'm interested in publishing and then I found out who thier agents were. Then I picked one that accepted unpublished authors and contacted them.
You might give it a try.

Okay. I'll try doing that once I get mine done and ready to be published. I just hope I don't become too much of a perfectionist with it.

That, my dear, is so much easier said than done. Half the time when I reread something I wrote I just start groaning and can't stand not to change stuff.

Yeah, I've noticed I do the same. Or I add something, read it again and start thinking it wasn't a good idea, only to later change my mind. I'll make sure I get some opinions first, before I do that too much.
