Baby's Broken Lullaby
Hush, little baby, don’t you cry Listen to my lullaby
Sometimes things turn out this way Daddy’s sorry he can’t stay
Please don’t let out such a fuss As you watch him stolen back from us
Why does baby sob so hard With her ravaged tears so marred?
Hush, little baby, don’t say a word To think it’s your fault is absurd
America wants Daddy’s time He’ll squirm through muck and mud and grime
And then I got the dreaded call Comrades watched your daddy fall
So as you drift off into sleep Ignore as Mommy starts to weep
Hush, little baby, don't get broke watch as life goes up in smoke
Hush, little baby, don’t you cry It’s not your fault that Daddy died
Please let me know what you think!
