Anime, nothing personal but I hate your idea. Not my Remus. No, no, no.
I still see Voldemort and Harry killing each other, but I have no idea who else will go. As disappointed as Rowling is making it, I would not be surprised to see a Hamlet style story and almost everyone die.

I actually had this conversation with a friend yesterday and I don't want to speculate because I don't want to jinx any characters.
But i agree with everyone, how can she be so selfish about Harry. However, i can see her point of view. If i had written a great series like Harry Potter I may feel the same way. It is afterall yours, if you know what i mean.
And NO to Remus dying. Definitely NO

I still can't condone killing off her main characters for that reason. It is not necessary.
I'll tell you how I'd do it if I was her. I would do it the same way George Lucas did the Star Wars stuff. He allowed writers to basically apply to continue writing stories after Return of the Jedi. That's why we now have around a hundred or so sequels to the Star Wars Trilogy. Basically anyone can write a sequel to the Star Wars Trilogy if it fits into what has already been written and if Lucas approves it himself. I'm not sure what will happen when the copywrite expires on it, but at least there has been more to read. Believe you me, I've read a great deal of those books myself.
Basically Lucas just wanted to assure that the quality of writing in the Star Wars universe was kept in place while still allowing the Star Wars fans to get thier SW fix. Plus these new books are grabbing all new Star Wars fans who will of course want to read or see the original Trilogy and the three Prequels. So he keeps making money on it for years to come. Talk about smart business.
I mean look at it this way, by the time the copywrite on HP runs out she'll be dead anyway, so how is it gonna affect her?

That would be a good idea. I'd probably write something. >.< Hell, even if she ends up killing Harry, there's so many characters that people would want to make sequels using.

Agreed! I'd definitely be willing to write some Marauder fiction (although I never enjoyed reading it - maybe it's just the classic "Hermione goes back in time and falls in love with Sirius" Marauder fiction). But there's a whole era there that could be written about. *shrug*
It makes her seem shallow, imho. That she doesn't mind people writing fanfiction online, but if she forbids them to publish it and make some money... ><

There's a lot of non-timetravel MWPP fics out there...I don't like reading them, either, though. And most of them focus on their fifth year or seventh year.
