Hey Dreamer. I'm one of the resident RPers though I'm not up here that often (cause I have ADD and travel too much). But anyway, a RP (role play) is kind of like writing a story, but you're doing it with usually a lot of other people and you're only in one point of view, which is the character you assume, be it a character you made up or someone from a fandom. You can't manipulate other characters without the consent of other RPers; manipulating without permission is called godmodding (GMing) or power playing (pping) and it is very frustrationg for various reasons. It's a little difficult to flat out explain without being rambly about it (I like to talk); it's a lot easier to learn by observing and doing. So if you have any further questions, you can ask Ark; he role plays a lot. Or if you have messenger services (AIM or MSN), you can add me and ask me questions, and if you want, I can show you how it's done. I hope that answered your question. If not, I can try again.

Thanks... I'm still not sure I really get it... Who is Ark? And where do you RP at?? (Sorry if I'm sounding stupid here...) And thanks, Song, too!! ~Anna Christie~

I'm Ark, and yes, if you wish, add me on msn to avoid clutter here on the rule boards.

I was wondering about that lately. What's the policy for double-posting if you're bumping a general thread like Name That Tune?

Well in that thread I don't mind so much, because people forget about it and then it holds everyone else up that is interested in participating. Now if you are the person who is posting the song lyrics and no one gets it after say five days I would suggest answering the question and posting lyrics to a different song or giving a hint to help people along if you want to stick with the same lyrics. For that reason it would be necessary for someone to bump the thread.
