If you remember right, in the first movie Will just about had him defeated at swords but Jack cheated.Ah, but that doesn't give him much insentive to fight fair, then, does it? No scathing looks here, Mother. To each his own and all that. I shall just have to wait until Jack kicks Will's rear. hehehe. No, being serious now. Nothing'll ever stop Jack from cheating, and I think it's safe to say he can cheat better than most anyone. So there's going to be very few situations he can't get himself out of, I'm sure. I only hope it doesn't come to all that because I always thought Will and Jack would never turn on eachother, they'd always be decent friends. *shrug* Yeah, I think Elizabeth is going to have an emotional joyride through At World's End. And by the way, they originally wanted to release the third film at Christmas, but seeing as they have over half the movie still to shoot....that won't be happening

I'm not gonna argue with you, but look at it this way. Will nearly beat him without cheating. So imagine what he can do if he does cheat. What am I saying? I'm encouraging Will to cheat just so I can prove a point. Someone save me.
Anyway I'll get back to what I was meaning to say. Yes, I really don't want to see Will and Jack's friendship go away. I'd like to see it grow actually. And maybe have Jack at least acknowlege it. I know it's because he's a pirate, but it burns me when Will does something good for Jack and Jack just acts like "Oh well, at least I got the good end of the deal" Doesn't the man know how to say thank you?
I promise I am not disparaging your pirate. I am just stating what I'd like to see happen in the future. I promise.
I wish it was coming out at Christmas time, but I know that is impossible. Ah man, do we really have to wait until next May?
Where's the monkey. I need to shoot something.

Hahaha, I love how we totally got kicked Elizabeth out of this subject. That's so like us. Well, I think Will would probably beat any man with a sword, certainly, but I guess what I'm saying is that he's too good of a man to steep quite as low as Jack would. There comes a time when a man will draw the line at trickery and theivery, but Jack won't. And that's, I think, the *real* truth behind all of his other escapades. It's the only reason he's still alive. I do understand what you're saying, Jack doesn't acknowledge his friendship with Will. I could just brush it off and say he's a guy, but I won't. I did, however, think they were equal in the first film, but in Dead Man's Chest it seemed like Jack would easily let Will die. That's not how he was in Black Pearl. Sure, it seemed like he was risking Will's life, but in the end he figured out a way to save everybody. Indeed, we have to wait til May. At least we don't have to wait another three years! The last three were torture!

I agree with everyone, and let me say 'I LOVE THE MOVIE!!' Hehehe, couldn't resist. Anyway, I don't think Jack actually sent Will to die on the Flying Dutchman, because when Davy Jones was talking to him about 100 souls in trade for his deal, Jack actually hesitates, and atleast tries to save Will by going on about the wedding thing, then hesitating when Jones asks him if he could handle sending an innocent man to death (or something of the sort).
Also, ever the slash fan, I think it would be great if Jack and Will got together, completely throwing Elizabeth out of the picture. But, to my greatest displeasure, I know that will never happen. Anywho...
I still can't get over that movie... I agree with who ever said it (sorry, distracted by Idril's icons [by the way, I love 'em]), that Elizabeth is going to so emotional to World's End, and I reckon she and Will will remain together; after, of course, she explains it all to him and Jack.
I wonder how Jack's going to get out of the Kraken. How does everyone pronouce that? 'Cause I continously say krae-ken, and I was annoying me that they were calling it crack-en. It's not a stupid drug.
I loved the bit just before Jack jumped into it's mouth, when it sorta spat on him, and he was just like, '"Not too bad."' Then, '"Oh"' When he found his hat.
Anyway, I gotta go work on my book now before my grandmother comes around and realises I haven't done that much because I've had writers-block. Grrr...

Idril, I definately hope to see the Jack we saw in the first movie come back in the third. And I really like to think that Jack leaving Will on the Dutchman was okay because he had a plan to make it all right in the end. Getting the heart would change things greatly. And yes we did kick Liz out. She's just not as interesting as Will and Jack. Do I think Will would cross the line to get what he wants? Ah hell, you are right. He's too good a man to go that far.
Wolf, wecome to the conversation. Your point about Jack not wanting Will to die on the Dutchman makes good sense. And believe me that's what I want to believe.
And you know Idril, Anime and I were talking about a cross between Jack and Will last night. What a coincidence. But I don't even see that as possible, because I don't see Jack ever truly falling for anyone. His true love will always be the sea.
And as far as the Kracken goes I've always pronounced it crack-en, but that is because I watched the movie Clash of the Titans a million times as a kid, even if the Kracken in it was not at all what mythology paints it as. Actually Potc2 did a really good job of creating the Kracken and keeping it true to mythology. I was impressed by that. And that part where the Kracken spits on Jack grossed my husband to no end. He is not good with gross stuff. I thought it was awesome. And when Jack says "Hello, Beastie." I loved it.

Wolf, I definitely have a slash link for you. I shared it with Anime and M the other day. I'll have to pm it to you right away As far as the Kracken, Davy Jones does refer to it as "the crack-en". I only remember hearing it once as every other time it's mentioned it's dubbed the title of "Beastie". lol. I do love Jack's last scene, though I was utterly grossed out when the thing spewed on him. I have a feeling he manages to beat Beastie, though. Just my thought. Don't know how he'll do it, but one can never really guess what he'll do next. Jack leaving Will on the Dutchman was strange, and I don't necessarily think he was going to break his back to save Will. Especially since the only reason he wanted the heart was to have a bargening chip when Jones came looking for those ninty-nine souls. Although I think he would have managed to get Will out as well. And possibly Billy Bootstrap! That would make a good AE. Yep, Lizzie is off this conversation *wink* But we already know her backstory and it's not all that exciting. There's much more to be discovered about Jack and Will, I think.

Oh they are so much more interesting than Liz.
Honestly I think Jack has the attitude that Will went over to the other ship of his own free will so what ever happens happens. Until that last scene I see Jack as the type that only does the heroic thing if he absolutely has to. But Liz managed to prick his conscience enough for him to do the right thing.
