The fox-creature's response hung in the air for a moment before Jude scowled at him. Yes, she was a doctor. However, if she knew why she was apparently immune to a contact-borne agent inducing psychosis, among other things, she would have told him. Or at least told herself. It really was none of his business; she only asked because he seemed to have at least some answers.
With a quick roll of her eyes at the almost curt request, Jude still moved forward to fulfill it. She plopped two more on the floor near the sink loudly; when they were filled, she hefted them onto the stove-top. During this time, she gave the fox-creature's statement some thought.
She was a doctor. Why couldn't she figure it out? This was a nice little mystery, and if doctor's thrived on anything it was that.
Feeling like she'd done her part and knowing the fox-creature and the vampire would ask her for help if they needed it - after all, it was her workplace - Jude walked off to the other side of the room. It was a small lab-like area, with microscopes; an incubator or two; plenty of vials, full and empty; and your usual doctor items. Jude went for a drawer, donned a pair of rubber gloves, and pulled a thin strip of rubber, a thick syringe, two vials, and a cotton swap. Carefully, she tied off her arm with the tourniquet, glancing at her companions, as it were. They were still working dutifully.
It was a little difficult, but Jude managed to fill both vials with her blood. She would run some tests to see if there was anything abnormal that showed up immediately. She was the doctor, after all.

Atavus stood for a few moments watching Ark and the doctor working on the cure Ark had mentioned. She didn't really understand alot of what they were doing. Oh she could cook and that was basically what they were doing with the ingredients but she had no clue what any of their properties were or just how they'd fix the crazed people in the city.
She did notice how agitated Ark was becoming though, and even though she herself was having a hard time controlling her impulses, it wasn't a good thing for him to be agitated. They needed him to fix all of this.
She pulled the small vial of mint from her tunic again and placed it on the counter next to where he was working. "Just in case you need this," she said then turned and walked to the lab door. "I'm going out and keep a watch. I don't think you want to be disturbed for right now."
She actually had two reasons for wanting to be away from there. Not only to keep the crazed of the city out but to get herself away from the waiting supply of blood in the room. She really didn't want to try to take blood from her compainion. He had offered it to her freely, and it would be wrong to now attempt to take it by force. And the other, well she was an oddity. The illness did not affect her and Ata had a feeling that she wanted to stay on the good side of this woman.
So she's prowl the hospital corridors and keep the crazed away from that lab. And if she so happened upon a snack, well she wasn't gonna turn down a free meal.

Ark's ears twitched as Atavus moved from the room. Around the same time, however, the slight metallic scent of blood wafted past his nostrils.
His gaze rolled over to the as of yet unnamed doctor opposite of him in the room. "Well, miss, calling you doctor all evening is probably doing wonders for your ego, but could you perhaps be kind enough to tell me your name?" Ark knew it came out harsh, but he wasn't that fond of people who avoided the common courtesy of divulging their name; it suggested distrust from the get-go.
"Furthermore, it was a rather uneducated idea to draw blood in the presence of a vampiress; a vampiress with impaired judgment at the moment, hmm? Why do you think I asked you to do it later?"
Ark dropped a few ingredients into the pots; they needed a few minutes to stew before he added the finishing bits, so quietly, he crossed the room to the unnamed doctor's side. "Would you perhaps require assistance?"

Jude paid little mind as the third person exited the room. It only made her a little nervous to be in the presence of a vampire, simply because she wasn't used to them.
When the fox-creature, Ark, spoke to her, Jude almost rolled her eyes before she remembered herself. "Well, I beg your pardon," she began softly, "I don't spend my time with vampires." She didn't mean it to be an overly rude statement, but the delivery couldn't be helped.
After a moment, Ark approached her, offering assistance. She gave him a perplexed look for a moment before shrugging. "If you could hand me another vial, and have tape and gauze at the ready, I'd appreciate it." She pointed to the items in their appropriate places then sighed.
This...infection...was odd. Ark had announced that the vampire was under the influence of the infection; Jude could only assume that Ark was, as well; as was the entire city. If anyone was going to be impervious to the disease, Jude would assumed the fox-creature would be the one. He only had the answers, it seemed, and the cure.
Jude drew another vial of blood in silence and capped it before removing the needle. She threw it in a trash can before taping gauze over the small puncture in her elbow. She looked at Ark for a moment, surveying him. He was definitely still in his right mind, at least to an extent. He had just changed considerably, noticeably in the last twenty minutes. It was a little alarming, to say the least. Especially since she was the only one unaffected.
"My name is Jude, by the way," she said at last.

Ark's tails wagged lightly with his satisfaction in receiving a name. "Sorry I've been rude, miss, but I'm very old fashioned;very, very old fashioned. I get a bit off when people don't give their name, though in this circumstance I was at fault. My apologies." Ark responded, eying the gauze taped to her arm. "Ah, that shouldn't bleed too much; hopefully Atavus won't have a fit over it."
Ark hummed lightly to himself before seeming to come to a revelation. "Your aura is a bit... off, for a mortal. I can't really say more than that, but something about you is different, clearly. You should readily find the answers you seek in your blood, Jude." With that, he returned to the stove and slid in a few pounds of chopped banana leaves each, filling the room with a bittersweet aroma. "Almost done, excellent!"

After Ark's explanation that the cure was almost done, Jude had set to running a few basic tests on her blood. If they didn't tell her anything, then she'd run some more in-depth tests to see if anything out of the ordinary appeared.
Jude didn't remember ever being sick a single day in her life. Her mother had always told her how she'd been the best baby in her infancy; she hadn't been caulicky, fussy, and had never had the odd fevers that babies seemed to get, even when teething. Of course, that had made raising the other children younger than Jude interesting, as they had seemed to make up for Jude's infallible health. She couldn't help but wonder why, now, while she'd always taken it for granted beforehand.
Jude was just about to set a culture aside - it was a little frustrating that some blood tests took days to turn up anything - when there was a loud crash from outside the lab. She looked at Ark, who was also alert, then turned her gaze to the doorway. A moment later, a very lean young man appeared in the shadows. He was swaying to and fro, side to side, in a very passive, sleepy manner. He was bleeding from multiple places on his body and his clothing was ripped. Jude hadn't seen any inhabitants this worse for wears earlier...
She was just about to approach the person, crazed or not, when the lights flickered on, causing Jude to blink and stumble from the brightness. The insane man let out a shriek before charging toward Jude, arms flailing. When he reached her, Jude hardly had time to react before she felt his fists raining blunt blows down on her. She allowed herself only a single moment of panic before slamming her fist into the man's gut as hard as she could. It didn't affect him as much as she had hope, only seemed to irritate him more, if the scratches meant anything.
In a few quick seconds, Jude turned her body so her back slammed the man's front, grabbed his arm, and threw him over her shoulder to the hard floor. They were a little close to the counter where Jude had been working, so his foot clipped the edge, pulling papers off the edge. With the paper came the blood cultures Jude had just set aside; they were equivalent to one vial of blood.
With a groan, Jude looked at the damage. Blood was all over the floor, as was glass and papers. The incubator was hanging precariously on the edge of the counter, threatening to crash to the floor. On Jude, herself, she was already feeling sore from the beating, but the scratches didn't hurt yet.
Quickly, Jude moved to one of the drawers in the counters and searched through some syringes before producing one full of clear liquid. She crouched beside the man, who was beginning to stir out of unconsciousness, then injected him with a sedative.
That finished, she looked at Ark, then at the exposed portion of her arms, which were all scratched.
"Ouch."

Ark blinked twice as he considered what had just happened; normally he'd have been quicker to act. Perhaps his transformation was interfering with his reflexes. Perfect.
So it seemed Jude could indeed handle herself, and judging by that idiot's sudden appearance, she'd have plenty of opportunities this evening.
He quickly regarded her arms and slightly chuckled at her reaction to them before grinning, some sand trickling out from his sleeves and forming into what seemed like living strands of glass thread which quickly moved over her scratches, seeming to stitch them over with magic leaving nothing but unmolested skin in their wake.
With a quick flick of the wrist, they retracted back into his sleeves as he eyed her arms carefully. "Yeah, modern medicine still can't do that." He muttered, seemingly satisfied with his work. "At least the power has turned back on, though I hope it's city-wide. I'd rather not have this area lit up like a beacon for the whole manic city to see."
