Mage - tartans are what Scots wore....if I'm correct, they're like a toga-kilt mix: the skirt part (pardon the term if it offends anyone) and a part that slings up around the shoulder and is fastened with a brooch or something. Correct me if I'm wrong, someone. lol
And I can't help ya with the chavs and chavesses....dictionary?

Hmmm... Years 9, 10 and 11... three. But we're moving to a secondary/primary system where you would be in the lst complulsory school from year 7, 8, 9, 10, 11...so its changing to five.

Hmm... year 9 starts at 13, year 11 ends at 16.
