Well, in my cosplay land, I STILL haven't finished the Riku cosplay. All that remains is the collar on the black vest. I think I might redo the zipper if I find time so that the outer vest could be reversible, and I don't have to worry about the frayed edges. In fact, I will do that eventually. Then the pants needed to be horribly altered. The crotch was halfway to my knee, so I cut and now I'm handstitching where I'm taking in the legs because it's just easier...I did find the shoes, but I have yet to get the belt. Anybody have a studded belt I can borrow? I really don't want to buy one from Hot Topic or Spencers, but I will if I have to.

As for the Howl cosplay, I finished it all except the jacket. If I don't get the jacket done, it's okay. I haven't bought material for it yet so no biggie. But I did order some jewelry for it. I found someone who makes anime props and she's made the earrings so I ordered those from her, and then I ordered a necklace that looks similar to it from Avon, so woot. I already have the shoes.

The Ed and Winry cosplays are done. My mom bought my sis a new skirt because the other one that I made was too short...^^;;;; That child is sproutin' like a weed, it ain't my fault. Again, depending on time, I MIGHT remake the Ed jacket to fit better, and to be warmer. Because, hello...tank top in November? It's finally getting cold...

As for the Namine and Sophie dresses...well, the Namine one is halfway cut out...that one, again, is no biggie. I decided I'm gonna get some trim for the scalloped edges, woot. Then the Sophie dress...^^;; Well, I just told a friend that it might be on the receiving end of many expletives, so I'd best work on it when no one else is around. Haha

As for miscellaneous costumes, I made a medieval corset type thing for my Halloween costume. I'm gonna be a Sexy Pirate. It's pretty much my Howl cosplay with the corset, and some boots.

So anyway. Can anyone tell I'm taking advantage of my employee discount at work? (Fabric store.)

That's so cool about the pirate costume... I'm going to be Rapunzel. Goodness knows I have the hair for it.

Well I started cutting out the pattern for the Sophie dress tonight. I'm tempted to tell my sister that she and mom can go find a pre-made dress and I'll buy it, it's gonna be a pain in the rear end. Gotta alter it and stuff....anyway, shouldn't complain about it. Hopefully this will all get done before NekoCon and I'm not working on cosplays the night before and morning of to finish up....

Well, I'm going to start a sewing project at the end of the month- when I can get some cash to get the fabric I want, I'm going to be making a kimono, found an awesome pattern at Walmart- it's going to be my first attempt at using a pattern^^;;

OKay so. I did get most of the nekocon costumes done. xD Anyway. New projects!!


I've been accepted as Cast in a Renaissance Faire, so I have to make garb for that! What's it include? Well...I'll be purchasing cotton leggings...because those would be ridiculous for me to make. *nod* After the stockings, it's an ankle-length chemise. What's that? It's basically a dressing gown, what you wear UNDER everything, your sleep shirt, etc. That. On top of the chemist, two or more skirts (one is supposed to look ratty, as the bottom skirt...oh well). The top skirt has to be pulled up SOMEHOW for various reasons, mainly to show that I'm wearing a second skirt. But think about it. Outside...mud. Yeah. It's supposed to look nice and pretty, I don't need it getting too dirty. Then I'll also have a bodice, which should be interesting. It has to lace up the sides. heh But since that's pretty much my SHIRT, it has to look pretty. Then, hats are law. *nod*

As for colors? Well, I'm an apothecary, the renaissance pharmacist in essence. So. When I asked the garb lady, she said I"d probably be wearing the more washed out, drab versions of colors. Like maroon, slate blue, stuff like that. So generally, I"ll be leaving stuff out in the sun to wash it out, and throwing my cotton stuff in the wash a lot to give it that tattered look.

It sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. I'll definitely be posting pictures when it's all done.
