Well at least they won't end up on Maury...*annoucer voice* "I know my best friend isn't the father of your baby," I wonder though, Jerry?
Well, when someone asks someone to marry them, they should be in it through good and bad and the unexpected, I think the baby falls into the last category. The ones who run are the immature ones who are still babies themselves.

Yeah, that's why we were proud of him for staying by. I mean, I dunno if he's marrying her just because they're having a kid or if he proposed to her a while back, but *shrugs* I'll ask him that eventually.

What an interesting board! I love discussions like this!
Anyways, about the whole geographic quiz. Got 18/20 on it. I missed the Kashmir one, although I'm really mad because what ended up being right was my first instinct. Just goes to show you that you should almost always go with your first instict. =P As for the second question, I missed Afghanistan. Which I'm really ashamed of because when I was younger and was looking at the globe, I'd always have "Afghanistan" stick out in my mind. But hey, I did better than most Americans, that's for sure. And I'm not even 18... how sad. What's even more pathetic, is that freakn CANADA got a higher percantage when locating the U.S.!! That's pathetic.
When I saw that post in your journal Ri, I kinda freaked out myself. xD However, that's really good that he's staying by the girl and not abandoning her... That's really mature and takes a real man to do that.

Yeah, I agree on all your points.
Also, interesting fact: American literacy is not increasing with the number of schools, but decreasing. A hundred years ago newspapers contained words that I can't spell let alone pronounce and people knew what they met, today you put a word more than three syllables long in a story and it better be a name, a location, or in a spelling bee story because no one will probably understand it otherwise *shake head* It's horrible what all this bureaucracy is doing to us.

Neeeeff! *glomps* Hi! Welcome to the Main Discussion board.
You know what Anime? I love reading the dictionary...but I'm fairly sure that's because I'm homeschooled, and I have hardly anything better to do with my time. heh But I'm also fairly sure that I wouldn't be able to figure out the words in the newspaper. >.>;;
ANd as for the more than three syllables thing...I'm going to go into health services, and granted, it isn't a really big doctor thing, their terminology is still like, wicked long.
(Just a tad bit hyper at the moment...hence the no point to the post)

Oh yeah, I forgot, if it's a medical article than there is a chance of medical termology like Influenza.

Four syllables, but most people know what influenza is. I think the newspaper intentionally avoids going into the nitty, gritty details of how a patient dies if it's more than the diseases/conditions the public is familiar with. You can't go up and say that so and so died from this disease hardly anyone has heard of. o.O You get weird looks and complaints.
Anyway....Yeah, I can't think of a real point to get to, so I'm just gonna hit the post button and go.
