Well it's finally in the theaters, and I just saw it. So I'll start this topic off.
I keep trying to think of the movie as if I had never read the book. All in all the special effects were awesome, and the actors were great.
But it is very difficult for me to not remember all of the things that were in the book that were left out of the movie. Which is quite alot.
For me the scenes seemed a little rushed, trying to fit so much into so little time. The movie was 2 1/2 hours long, but I could have easily sat through another hour to watch all the things they left out. And would have gladly done so.
So I guess I should sum it up as, I liked the way it was put together. I loved the special affects and the actors get better every time I see them. But in the end I felt like there should be more.
These are just my opinions and I greatly expect others to not share them. But this thread is for discussion. So lets discuss.

It's the same problem I have with the movies, but this one, in my opinion, is the best one to date. I saw it yesterday.
I loved Malfoy the bouncing ferret and the Death Eaters, besides looking like KKK members, were awsome. They were different than I imagined, but close enough. Voldemort was good, though.
I have decided that Tom Felton is the hottest cast member there. HE LOOKS DROOLISHEST IN BLACK! *drool* Sorry, a bit of fan girling. Harry also looked good.
As for the movie, as my brother and I agree yesterday, "Two thumbs and two big toes up."
Unfortunatlly, I came out with a headache, neckache, and slight nauesea attributed to the fact that I was sitting in the second row of the theater. But it didn't take away from the film. Some of the scenes were changed, but that was okay, I still loved it, and the action in the dragon scene was sweet.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie tremendously, my only problem with it was everything they left out from the book. As I said I could have sat and watched it for an hour more, and gladly would have. It was so fast paced that I couldn't believe we had been in there for an two and a half hours after it was over.
I have to completely agree with you on Tom Felton. Droolish is a very appropriate term. I just wish he was included more in both the book and the movie.
The ferret scene had me screeching with laughter though. I couldn't help myself. Now that is an interesting form of teaching.
My favorite scene though was the graveyard scene. It was carried off so well. And Daniel Radcliffe outdid his self in acting. I gained a trememdous amount of respect for him as an actor. When Voldemort put the Cruciates spell on him, I felt like writhing in pain myself.
I myself would recomend the movie to anyone who loves the Harry Potter story, but just as a warning, if you take anyone with you who has not read the books be prepared to answer alot of questions. I had to explain the whole how Barty Crouch Jr. got out of Azkaban thing to my husband. I rather missed the House Elves parts in this movie, well at least Winky and Doby.

I missed Archie and his need for "a healthy breeze around" his "privates." I also missed Ton-tongue candy and the fireplace in the Dursleys. That's one of my biggest problems with the movies, but GoF had something the other movies did not, stronger action and plot.
I also have a problem with the fact that none of the costume and make up artists seem to know what contacts are. They were given to Hooch in the first movie, but Daniel Radcliff has blue eyes.
I also missed "The House-Elf Liberation Front." None of our favorite subplots. They can't leave out the Dursley's, though next movie. It's important to the plot of the movie, and I do hope they don't leave the cleaning of the drawing room, because there's blantant hints in it. *sigh*
Loved the dragon scene, did I mention that? And the grave yard as well as the Quidditch World cup.

Yes you did mention that. It was amazing. That Horntail was brillant special effects. I forgot about Archie. I remember him from the book, and I also remember thinking that I knew why the movie would be rated PG-13 when I heard his statement. But then they went and left it out.
Honestly I might should not say this, but as far as I was concerned they could have left the Yule Ball out, and put some of the rest of it in. I never was into dances at school. But I guess it was a big event. Oh well.
And about the Quidditch world cup. They left out the Leprechauns and the Vilya. Not fair. I wanted to see that. But oh well. I will stop complaining now.

Yeah, they left out veela completely, they didn't even say Delacor was a part veela. The whole "weighing of the wands," (which for double entendre purposes could be consider PG-13) was turned into a photo opt and an excuse to introduce Skeeter, who they didn't even mention was an animagus. *sigh* It was still the best one, especially with the grave yard scene.

Have you heard whether of not they'll do book 5 as a movie or not. I've heard rumors both ways. I know the actors are getting older and they are afraid that they won't fit the parts anymore, but I still think they could play them for at least one more movie. I would love to see OotP on the big screen.
