So it can't be a picture from, for example, Harry Potter?

No sorry hon. No fandoms. That would make it a Fan-Fiction instead of Original fiction. Nope needs to be some form of original Artwork. I mean it can even be a sculpture or something like that as long as you can provide us with a picture of it to go along with the story.

Does "Starry, Starry Night" by Van Gogh work? (I don't think I'm going to use that, but I'm trying to get into a feel for what pictures)

Yes, Anime. ;D Classic works are a good choice, I think. I was considering using a James Tissot painting. I'd also recommend Jack Vettriano, most of his paintings look like there's a story waiting to be told.

Well, I was just a little stuck on wording. I would have died if it had to be an original work done by myself...

Oh I could imagine some of the stuff I would come up with if I had to do an original artwork. Lets just say I'd prefer to do a story on my daughters artwork than my own.
Now if anyone who is talented would like to do thier own artwork to base a story off of that is up to them. I say more power to them, but for me I'd stick to the classics.
